Yea, he has a fancy survey grade GPS and a base station. He collects the data, but if it is not post processed, to the network, it is just data and not tied back to Earth. I don't understand the process and I am not a surveyor, never claim to be. We send him the orthophoto, and he puts his stamp on it to make it a survey.

My brother and sister in law are on the way to visit their son in Colorado. They are driving the Class B motorhome. Yesterday the wind was blowing and the fiberglass roof started to peel off. They stopped and used a roll of gorilla tape to hold it in place better. They stopped at the next city and bought more gorilla tape and some large tarps for when they park. I warned him to watch the wind advisory and we had a bit of wind in the area and plan for the weather.
Their son's house has 5 feet of snow. He has been running a snow blower to carve out the spot where they normally park. They will be surrounded by snow. Their son said it is perfect snow to make an igloo. Golly I wish I could be there.

He has chains, and tow ropes, a winch and the winter tires on it. I would rather set my hair on fire than mess with that.
Not my farm, not my pig. Well, I have phase two of Parade registration done. For the first time ever, it was like being in the 21st century with wide band internet and a modern computer. For many years it was like a 1200 baud modem and a full dial up experience. Maybe they actually spent the money to get the web page on a host site with a real decent connection. Back in the olden days when I was the registrar for Parade (1996) it was all analog, and I was the first registrar to have a computer system and I ran a BBS for club. It was dialup! The entrance form was in the Panorama, and it was ripped out, filled out and mailed to national. They sucked all the money out and took care of that part. They then mailed me the filled out forms, and my wife and I hand typed every persons name, address, and information into an Access database I built. I put that on my BBS, and few select national officers had access. One was a Access wizard, and he improved my database, and generated reports. The right people could then run the report and get what they needed. That was back when the local region ran Parade, and national was there as the rules enforcer, and they took half the profits. We did a ton of work, and did 98% of the work, all volunteer work. Now National just runs the show and has paid workers.

Yea, and they are doing it all, not because they have to, but they want to. All retired, no job to have to get to, just go drive in crappy conditions because they want to.

Ya know, if it wasn't so unpleasant, food poisoning would be a good ab regimen.

The shorts are off, and I have to to be all dressed up in jeans as it is 43 outside again. The warm weather returns soon.
The client managed to get his data processed with OPUS, and all is good. It is so much easier with a real coordinate system. Maybe I have a cast iron gut, but I don't think I have ever had food poisoning. As worst some diarrhea from a bad meal. Maybe it was all the years living as a bachelor, and eating leftovers and my cooking. My mom was once aghast that I had thawed some hamburger, and then put it back in the freezer when my meal plans changed. It made some wonderful spaghetti sauce and I always made enough to stretch out a week of meals. Never an issue.

Yea, I just sent the links to the recent flight and my favorite part is sending the invoice. They will just ignore the invoice for a while I am sure.
It was another river project, and I hate doing water projects. With water the computer can't tell one wave or speck of stuff from another and it just makes ugly blobs that I have to play computer and and fix. It is just water, and there is nothing there but waves or sand bars. Just the shore line is important but we want to deliver a nice looking image.

Ouch, groan. I have lots of sore muscles.
The mean boss's wife drug me outside Saturday afternoon for the latest flower garden expansion. We finished up on Sunday afternoon. 24 years ago when we moved in there were three 6 foot Bradford trees in the front yard, and a few very small bushes along the house in a couple of spots. The trees are destroyed due to ice storms and long gone. Way back in then, I put in a "rose bed" in the front yard that was 4 feet wide and 15 feet long. Decorative concrete edging blocks and to help keep the Bermuda grass at bay, I set them all in a concrete base. The roses all go a disease spread by insects, and all died. Mrs. Carrera took it over. On Saturday and Sunday it was time to expand the garden 10 more feet. Lots of shoveling and digging. One of the Bradford trees was over 20 years old when the ice storms destroyed it two years ago. Lots and lots of roots. We had the main stump ground out, and and planted a holly bush that will have red berries for the birds in the fall. So we had to work around the holly, and in two places 6 feet apart I we encountered roots that were 1.5 to 2 inches in diameter in the way of the concrete blocks. Those dang roots were both a challenge to get out. Easily an hour each. The concrete is in place, and soil filled back in. The area of grass that was just yard is now in the process of getting killed and turned into garden area and the new bush or plants is likely to be purchased on Thursday, So I will be digging more holes. Oh joy.
