When I put the door opener on the wall, I also had the tracks raised up to be just under the multiple 8 foot florescent lights.
The scissor lift in a pit is one of the best add ons in my garage. That and the heater and the AC to keep me comfortable out there.

When doing a brake fluid flush, it is easier to remove the wheels. ![]() I had to borrow the wife's Macan this morning. I had to pick up a big ol' pile of mounted prints from our print service bureau. 13 40x60s and multiple smaller prints for our client. The 40x60 fits in the back like the car was designed for it. If I used the El Camino, I would need a bunch of shipping blankets, and straps nd figure out some way to keep the wind from blowing them around. 100 times easier to use the Macan. Now I just need him to come pick them up. I just left them in the back of the Macan for now. We don't really have a place to store them in the house. They are laying nice and flat in the back of the Macan.

Morning all. It is very close to freezing fog here this morning. Currently 33 and foggy. The drive to work had spotty sections of poor visibility.

![]() We had to move the plumeria inside for the winter. It is in the kitchen window in the mini-greenhouse-plant growing part of the kitchen. The first round of blooms were pink, then it had a second round of pink and white, and this round of blooms is yet again a new variation. Pink and white with yellow centers. I guess it is happy.

Fun with credit card customers again!
One of our clients wants to pay a bill. OK, so I take down the info of the credit card number, expiration, the CCV and the billing zip code. I open up the App, and it tells me my session has expired. OK, so I look up my user name and password, log in and then it tells me it has to have access to my network, printer and microphone. So I turn on that access just to get it to finish updating. I run the payment, and then go back in and kill the access to the microphone and printer and of course the network. Eff em. Gimmy my money! That will take a few days and cost me 3.5%. Oh well. At least it is paid.

Yeah I have never understood why the apps all need access to those things when I have to type everything in.

Get off my lawn!

I was running an errand and using I-35 which is just two miles east of my house. On the way back I got off at my normal exit and there was a large pickup sideways in the off ramp, and a tow truck driver working to load it up. I figured it was smart too turn on my emergency flashers to let anyone else exiting there to slow down and stop as there was no going around.
I guess when I rebuilt the steering column, I got something slightly out of alignment as the emergency flashers would not cancel. So I drove the two miles home with my emergency flashers flashing. I had to use the steering wheel puller to get the steering wheel off, and I could see behind the lock-plate a way to move the flasher button. Reassemble, and all is fine. It is a strange feeling pulling the steering wheel off, and I use a wrench to tighten a large bolt pushing on the center while tow temporary bolts are in place to give the puller something to pull against. The sensation is just like stripping out a bolt as it suddenly gets a little easier to turn, but not yet, turn some more, and it is almost sure stripped, and them the wheel is lose and all is normal. The Germans made it easy. Just remove the large nut, and the wheel comes right off. Getting it back in place is easy, just tighten up the 7/8 bolt and put the horn button back on.

Morning all. 33 again. I'm just glad I use my garage as it was intended unlike the neighbors who are going to have to scrape to drive, or should but probably will not.

Fall was here, left briefly but should be back by the weekend. Only bad thing today, 40mph winds.

Morning all. Everyone ready for thanksgiving? We will head to my niece's house again this year. No mess. I put up the house lights last Saturday before the rain sets in. I put up some C7 LEDs. Not as many lights on a string but hopefully brighter.

We are ready. Just my wife and I this year. My brother and his family are 900 miles away. My wife's brother is 90 miles away, but we are not invited. So I get lots of turkey leftovers!
![]() We had an interesting Saturday. A local business that is a really nice place to store "spare" cars had their two year anniversary. ![]() They asked if I would put my car on display as part of the celebration. ![]() ![]() This is THE oldest Porsche sold new in North America. It came in through Max Hoffman. The factory has certified it as the oldest. It is a 1952 Pre A cabriolet. ![]() It had no real gas gauge, so it comes with a dipstick to check the levels. It was really nice before, but he had no idea what the original color was, so he painted it bright red. Then he finally got hold of the original Cardex, and it was listed as Strawberry Red. He had to track down the formula and John Willhoit had it. So he found a company in Texas that is super meticulous to strip it, down completely, and repaint it to the proper color. He has a two volume "baby book" of every past owner, and photos from them, and tons of documentation. The original engine was long gone, but he found a brand new replacement case with no numbers, and had the numbers stamped on. Now it has a roller crank, so even more rare and expensive.

I had to make one from a wood dowel and notched groves for my 1960 VW Bug. It had no factory gauge. That was an option back then.
