Ride height is nog biggie.

But whatever you guys like, that black one is too high.
Look how high the front fender is of the ground...
There's too low and there's too high. This is too high.

this one has my vote over the black one, and I prefer Black cars..

It's crazy anal 100% original, super clean, owner kept every record right down to gas mileage from day one. They want 39 for it but I might be able to get them down. the other car I'm looking at is in nowhere near as good of shape but already has a B&B exhaust and Kokeln IC unit - a few things I don't see any reason to keep stock. God, shame about the wheels but I guess one can get a hold of a set of Fuchs somehow. why would you keep your car so meticulous then put those wheels on it? here's the ad for it:

Alright men. stop discussing other men's cars when said men are not present.

Anyways, it's not going to be either one of those cars. the petrol blue one was too expensive and the black one was a little too hot rod for my liking. the owner (who is a pelican) has done 174mph in it, so we know it moves!

anyways, its going to be this one:

only after it gets a proper once over. looks like the engine is coming out and getting head studs replaced as well as a "valve job". they will replace everything rubber along the way.

It's going to be a lot of money but I am pretty excited about what the end result will be!

Webbster that light blue 930's alot of money for a car that needs body work and upper end motor work. Like Rick says have the under side checked out all suspension mounts and hardware. Check with Dave B. at TRE, California cars are the most desirable, 78 &79 should be easier to find U.S.A. model 1980s are harder to find. Porsche pulled the plug on the Turbo that year, in the U.S.A.. I just checked The Porsche 911 Red Book and it doesn't show any 1980 U.S. 930s, only ROWs and Japan models.

I'm pretty sure there were no 1980 USA cars. My 80 is grey market
for the record having both a blue and a black turbo, black looks better but blue is faster ;-)

Thanks guys, especially those who agree with me!

what's the deal with H4's? does that refer to the shape of the headlights or the type of light that is inside?

The car has had a thorough PPI and everything checked out ok. mostly just aged rubber. I'm doing the upper end motor work as preventative/qualitative maintenance. the cost of that kind of work over here would be triple if something like taht came up in the future and I am not a mechanic nor have facilities/resources to do such work The car has no service history so I'm trusting the shop to go through and let me know what needs to be done. they seem like good people.

I can of course still choose not to do it and haven't fully pulled the trigger on the car yet but I think that's the route I'm going to go.

Both, they look better AND provide better lighting than sugarscoops.

being the ignorant newb that I am, I didn't even notice the lights!

Looks like I have to go on the hunt for a pair of H4's. are they original on this car?
