Alright camera buffs, I am shopping for a P/S to take on my adventures... I have drooled over the Olympus toughs for years, but the lumix seem to be getting better reviews. Is it worth paying the $65 more for the Ts2, or should I hold out for the TS3? Also, does anyone know definitively which ones have leica glass? I'm getting confuzzled.....

According to your links, the last two have Leica glass.

Yes, I see that... I swear I saw somewhere that the first one was too though, hence my confusion...

The leica glass that much better?

Either you guys have no jobs and sit around the house pleasing yourself, or you only work with blokes.

What are you planning to do with the pictures? Small web images... Large wall prints... If the latter, Leica would do you well. If the former, it hardly matters.

Just going to be used as my carry camera, I doubt wall sized prints will be made of my work...

Figures. I am the only guy here, working (rather closely) with 25 women. I am expecting to receive a jolly good thrashing any day now. Not that I would mind terribly..

That is not cheap but it looks like a sturdy little Fokker....

I'd wait for it cause I would feel bad buying one and having the nex tmodel coming out shortly later.

I print on 11"x17". Glass matters. If I print 4"x6", my Canon P&S looks great. I'm pretty sure an 8x10 would look acceptable too. Anything over that and the flaws show.

So, if you plan on seriously printing over an 8x10, then spend the extra money for better glass. If all you plan to do is print a few for the mantle over the fireplace and put on the web, save your money.

AS with all digital cameras, tweaking sharpness in PS or other software does wonders. My guitar thread has used 4 cameras, but mainly my old P&S. I only use a auto tone or auto contrast and smart sharpen. Too much time to do anything else. For the most part it suits me just fine. There are shots that I don't like, color is off, but it has little to do with glass.

In the end, it's up to you. I'm just presenting the facts.

Oh, how many pictures have you actually printed lately?

You do know they talk about you behind your back, right?
They've probably discussed everything from the car you drive to the girth of your manquipment.... They do that, women...

I may wait to see the price, and the old ones will get a little cheaper when the new one comes out... I just can't really see spending that kind of change on a camera that I have every intention of beating the hell out of....
