We will be mostly using this beside the highway, we always do locates on those...

Besides, we know what we are doing, this one digs a baby hole compared to our digger derrick. It will dig a 30" hole, 14' deep

That little unit is meant to be rented... Check into renting one if you build your own fence... They are like $200 for 4 days around here.... It would be money well spent.

General makes some little one man augers. They work damned well too. We carry them on our trucks a lot... With an 8" bit they are really a 2 man job though. Home Depot rents those out....

might be an option. thanks for the info. Right now I have to clear a path, run a string line and point out the fact that the grass pile is not on the correct side.

If you have any questions about that type of equipment feel free to give me a shout... We are pretty good at making holes in the ground....

We have a cool hydraulic tamper, but dad blew it up last weekend. Not sure what went wrong, but it started spewing fluid out a popoff valve and the side of the aluminum case tried to blow out....

I hope he's not loony, like the guy (and family) next to my parents. What a nightmare it's been. Seriously, the family is nuts. None of their elevators go to the top floor.

Not sure what happened. We suspect something plugged up in the tamper. The truck(hydraulic power source) bogged down briefly, and then all hell broke loose. We need to tear it apart and investigate.
