Well the company I work for uses an AS400, an IBM minicomputer, to run the company. It has it's own user and password system for terminal access. Almost all user access the AS400 system with Microsoft Windows desktop or laptop computer and save and access files on servers. This uses the Windows Server User and password environment called Active Directory. There are a few Macs used in the graphics and design departments that have their own servers using Mac user and password environment. There are also several other devices that have their own user and password systems for network and devices access and security.

The IT department assigns a login and password for each user and has a database to keep track of the users, their passwords, and what they have access to. This has worked very well and is easy to maintain...BUT the IT Director wants everyone's password to change every couple of weeks and to do that there needs to be a central password server. This is typically done with Microsoft's Active Directory and most all systems have the ability to integrate with Active Directory.

The problem is that our IT staff is not the sharpest and hire consultants to come in and set things up. Because we are in Oklahoma those consultants typically aren't much sharper than our staff and there are always problems from the consultants "short cut" implementations.

I just get frustrated because I am the Mac guru and EVERY time these consultants come in they make changes and it blows up, they immediately blame it on the Macs. Many times the macs aren't even involved and the macs still get blamed.

Oh, so that's where you are (and why you don't answer the phone when I call).

OK, 8 am, tomorrow morning, gate at the bottom of Fryman Cyn. I usually park on one of the residential streets off Fryman.

Blame 'em all!

Alarick, I'm home. I was trying to have a short nap before going to rollerblade. Neither worked out.

8 sounds early.

Not rumor, I have several law officers in my family, they are trained to do this, and I detest it when they touch Lanna. Peggy on the other hand they seem to be afraid to touch.

They're home!

Went to the airport and picked up the wife and kids. They've been on vacation for the past 2.5 weeks.

I haven't seen much of my cats these past couple weeks. They seem to always be outside, and generally making themselves scarce unless I'm working in the garage. It looks like they've lost weight, even though I've been filling their bowls twice a day and at least one of them is regularly supplementing his diet with birds he's catching (I find the feathers ). But now that the kids are home, they're hanging out on the couch as always. I think they missed the kids.

In other news, Dave you missed an Evangeline Lilly sighting at Fryman Canyon this morning. (OK, maybe not really her, but looked exactly like her, just taller.)

Good evening guys.

I got to looking in my closet. I have a great collection of t-shirts and shorts. In the winter I wear my jeans. Some of the events at Parade next week suggest business casual. My "good" slacks were purchased 10 or 15 years ago. They are a bit worn from the days I had to wear them in the past. I really do not have what most guys would call a nice "outfit" for a night on the town. All summer I wear shorts & a t-shirt with a rare non t-shirt to work and the exact same thing on the week ends.

I am going to suck it up and man up tomorrow and go to the mall. I will grit my teeth and go buy some new Dockers and maybe even some shoes that are not my standard white walking shoes. I have not bought any shoes except white walking shoes in this millennium. I might even buy a shirt that has buttons and no sort of Porsche or racing logo on it.

It will be a horrible experience going to the mall and buying clothes. Hopefully I will not have to do it again until 2021 or beyond.

interesting. don't they already have your plate/make/model?

honestly, that video brought back bad memories of when i was pulled over last fall. the officer in the video was much worse, for SURE. however, i felt completely bullied and wanted nothing more than to shove that arsehole into traffic.

Glen, I know how you feel. I hate shopping for clothes. I like to dress nicely, but I hate having to pick things out.

That's why you go to a clothier.... Have someone pick it out for you. I can't stand shopping for suits.

Is 24 and 38 too far apart in age?
