We have a public holiday down here for monday and tuesday.
Why? you may ask. The Melbourne Cup, a horse race. I wonder how many countries have two days off for a horse race. I know nothing about horse racing, but the holiday is fun. hehe, a horse race.

Good afternoon. The fun continues for me this weekend. The fun of cleaning the aquarium was so much fun we decided to go clean up at my dad's house.
Dad is 81 and is fighting leukemia. He does chemo which really zaps his blood and ability to get air. His stroke symptoms seem to be gone so that is one positive. My mom died years ago so the house does not get cleaned much. We spent several hours hitting the big stuff. Not much fun but necessary work.

Well the holiday is for tuesday.
Over the years no one showed up for work on the monday. Now they just take both. One official and one for the hell of it. Classic Australian stuff.

My sister's way of helping me care for my 92 yo Mom that has had 2 strokes is that she guilted my brother into paying for a maid every other week to help clean house. It's kinda funny cause it's the only thing my brother and sister have done that they asked me if it was okay first. Like I am going to say no to having a maid. And I don't even have to learn Spanish.

I did not roll the 300,000 miles today as I expected.
 I will do it tomorrow for sure. No one else on the planet really cares but I will alert everyone anyway.

On a lighter note the kid played at a recital where he takes lessons. I think he may have out grown them. When the teacher said he would be playing and singing several parents could not believe it.
