Well, it's an independent mechanic working out of his home garage that has a very good reputation.

Last time he worked on my car...replaced a $16 part instead of needlessly doing a $1500 job, then kept forcing me to drink beer until I agreed to put on a x-pipe instead of putting the stock exhaust back on.

That is how they lure you in. Just like a drug dealer, something great for cheap and once you are hooked they gotcha!

Actually I think you made a good choice in leaving it there.

Woohoo! Got somewhere on the benz. Talked to the adjusters boss. The shop just got a sensor in that they believe will be the last.....their right. He agreed to just total the car if this one doesn't fix it. One way or another, this will be over this week!!!!

They're way past the total loss value with what they have in repairs.......add in paying me the total loss value and we're talking some change.
the adjuster didn't know for sure what they'd spent so far, but he knew they passed 15k a while ago and suspected they'd be close to 20 when it all tallied up.........and not a scratch to the exterior....
