When I walked into the office I noticed it was distinctly cool in here.

The heater is on the fritz. I am betting it is the igniter. It is a natural gas unit that does not have a constant pilot light. Just an electric spark ignites the flame. At least that is how it is supposed to work.

I've known a few people that have blown their eyebrows off trying to light a pilot light on their heater.

We finally determined the real problem. The dang gas company is having an outage in the area. We called them and reported a problem and they finally admitted everyone in the area is out of luck for a while. Fortunately it is not super cold outside. It down to just 66 inside.

Whooo Hoooo

We have heat again.

They came in to light the water heater so we turned on the heater. It fired right up. They said some contractor closed a valve on the gas line that he thought was a two way line but it is just a one way line. They said it went off about midnight.

It is a good thing the weather was mild.

Heat is nice.

and now for something completely different :
That time teh postman did not deliver my package, in december.. When he dropped a note saying " i rang but you weren't home", and then when i walked out seconds after that, telling him, i'm home, he told me "package to big, don't have it on me" (but i saw it in his van).

As it turns out, That's the postman who now is complaining that my mailbox is not regular (it's 3 feet from the road, he wants it at the road).. And says that he can't be asked to knock and i should have a doorbell

WTF!? His knuckles are to soft and fragile to gently knock on a PVC door?
Messengers, couriers, people all over the world have been knocking on doors for centuries.

Yet a postman in 2012 can't knock?

They want me to install a bloody doorbell, so i could hear him ring when i'm bloody sitting 2 feet behind the door & window?

If this is the level of bull**** excuses the world has come to : Mankind. is. doomed.

Take note : I am not installing a doorbell on the basis of such infantile bull****.
I rather walk to the postal point, 1 mile from my door, in crazy weather then to install a doorbell for this jackass.

And every day he has a parcel or consigned letter, i hope it's the only one on his route he can't deliver.. Cause that will mean that on that day, he has to make one special detour to drop my shipment off at the postal point, before he can call it a day.

Hell, i might even send consigned letters to myself, just to increase the odds on that happening. F0cking Wanker.

I have a friend that is a postman. He told me about delivering a neighborhood that is ghetto and he is white. He was told by his boss to NOT have his wallet or any money on him in that neighborhood. Also that if anyone started to give him any problems to just threaten that they would never receive another welfare check.
