Rick, many years ago back before computers and cell phones....

I was on a double date with a buddy. I was not dating him we each had a girlfriend! He was a oil patch worker and was making crazy money. He bought a Mercedes S class 6.3 and put a 1,000 watt stereo system in it. I had no idea that was even possible but with a big car and big wallet anything was possible.

Anyway, we were on a road that was on the edge of town back then. We pulled up next to a dude with his new Corvette with a roof off and the stereo blasting country & western. My buddy hit one button and all the windows rolled down on the big Merc and he slipped in a cassette tape. All of a sudden the world erupted. He had Eruption by Van Halen ready to go. The light turned green and we smoked the Corvette running to the next light.

The girls were not as impressed as I was. A huge 4 door car outran the Vette, and the sound level made my ears ring for a day. I had never heard Eruption before that night.

A few months later the oil boom went bust and my buddy had to sell everything for pennies on the dollar.

Finally started the two week work-cation at my western outpost.

Wad at a tereo nop ad dis guy asd me to liten to hid tereo. IE This deaf guy at a stereo shop wanted me to listen to his stereo. I refused because it was already shaking my pants legs from 50 ft away. About that time the phone rang and it was an office in the building a block away complaining that his stereo was rattling their windows.

As a kid I loved donuts. I guess as I got older I became more of a salty-grease fan. I would rather have a bag of Doritos & a beer than a box of chocolate or donuts.

On one occasion I was going to friends house for a meeting. There were going to be several cops and firefighters there. He asked me to bring two dozen Krispy Kreeme donuts since the store was right on my way. While standing in line to get them they handed me a fresh from cooker still hot one. That was dang good. The cops and firemen attacked the two dozen donuts and they were gone in no time.

I almost punched out a customer today. He told me I could go to lunch after I fifnished looking at his truck, that he brought in at 11:55. I told him I go to lunch promptly at 12. he onjected and when I walked away he followed. My boss intercepted him before I hit the timeclock.

Rick, I feel your pain. We have a small shop. We sometime lock the doors and put a sign up that we will be back at a certain time. Closed for lunch does not seem to soak in to some folks.
