Any of the good quality beer is only sold in a liquor store. Everyone around here calls that 6 point beer, but in reality is is anything above 3.2%. It can't be sold cold, and in the wintertime if it comes off of the truck cold they have to hold it in the back of the store until it is full room temperature.

The good news is the gas station beer is available 7 days a week, and it is fine for drinking while mowing the yard or any household task. I would have to drink a 12 pack to feel a good buzz and I don't like to pee that much.

I usually drink that 3.2% around the house. Once my vacation starts I change to local micro brews. That brings up a question for D,

Where can I get micro-brew beer in SLC. I am staying downtown at the Little America hotel. Is there a good close by place to get cold micro brew? What about Sundays? Can I still buy beer at a store?

that is hilarious!

microbrews can be had downtown seven days a week at the local microbreweries, squatters and redrock. really really close is epic brewery with the best beer in town, IMO. squatters and redrock are pubs, so they serve food. epic is a straight up brewery, but the beer is refrigerated, not open on sunday.

there is also 'the bayou', which has a great beer selection (hundreds, literally), pretty decent food. the downside is the service, which can be spotty.

you can still buy 3.2 beer at regular stores on sunday.

What about the "members clubs"? I remember having to join to grab a beer after skiing.

13.1 miles on the rollerblades, aka a half marathon! W00t.

Found out my exgf, one who I never got over, married an ex-coworker. Pretty bummed at the moment.

Thanks D. I may stop by the microbrew places for a meal, but I prefer a six pack that I can enjoy in my room. I am just not into the bar environment.

epic brewing really is the biz. they took the idea of homebrew and ran with it on a grand scale. no two batches of the same beer are EXACTLY the same. the brewer has fairly liberal artistic license and the beers are always top notch. if one is looking for spot on consistency, tough. they are consistently delicious, end of story. be careful, however, as many are high test and the taste does not advertise that fact.
