We are going to build a new frame. That has been the plan since before the last one was complete. That one was done in a rush (with non-welders doing welding sometimes) since we procrastinated and have not that many people on the team -- with some leaving in the middle of the project. There was also a wait for the batteries to be finalized that prompted the procrastination.

I'm a mechanical engineer. The thing wasn't working so I checked all the connections and switches and when that didn't work I figured I would let the EE deal with it. Hotwiring is kind of what it felt like.

I did not need a multimeter to tell me the controller was not energized. There were no status lights on and my computer was saying it was off.

Max, you have those emergency cut off switches? Are they in the "on" position? Unplug the power connectors to the controller, plug a multimeter on the car side (that's connected to the battery) and see if you have voltage.

Like I said in the first post, I made sure all the switches were in the on position. I did not want to mess around in the area of the controller connections since they are next to the big welding cable that carries the motor current. You should see how hard it is to get the nuts and bolts on the terminals in there. Space is tight and I don't want to get zapped.
