yeah, the cat.

so, no coolant in the oil, i just drove it a bit, temperature behaved. it is obvious that there was a coolant explosion from the fill cap, from the looks of the right side of the engine. i bet my wife drove it to work, the coolant exploded as she walked away and she didn't even notice. i asked her to drive the porsche, PLEASE....

So the cap was loose and when it started to heat soak it erupted out? Now who could have left the cap loose?

You know, paper towels would be handy for soaking up spilled coolant...

oh, i am sure that was me. positive, in fact. lord help me. but, in my defense, i am still sorting a couple of things and asked my wife not to drive it until i was sure it was sorted. i had her subaru last night, so, instead of taking the 951, she drove the rover anyway. and then obsessed all night about driving the rover instead.

except the coolant exploded all over a wicked hot engine and has already evaporated. and it happened somewhere other than in my driveway. thus, i am sure it was last night, in the car park, where my wife works.

Alright, I accept that excuse.

Why did she have her mind so set on taking the Land Rover? Seems like the 951 would be more appealing.

So, Dave and Alarick, are you guys coming up to fix the car or not. It still needs sorting.

the 951 is LOUD and it is unpredictable with the power delivery and twitchy. just like i want it.

loud: 2/3 of the interior is gone. more or less straight exhaust, no cat.

twitchy: the tires are sticky and the suspension is set up with extra camber up front and the brakes are SOLID.

power delivery: a lot of turbo lag and then !WTF! if your foot is into the throttle.

bottom line: she likes the other cars better because they are more tractable. i like the 951 better because it is raw.

What's wrong with the Boxster? Or are you saying she likes its predictability?
