The only thing new about it is the place where I am going to be doing it. I have been wrenching longer than you have been sucking air and I am burnt out. The economy isn't good right now for a change of professions for someone who is almost 50.
I don't expect you to understand this Sid simply because of your age, but I am tired. Not the I need more sleep kind either.

I get all of that Rick, but I'd hope you'd be a little positive about the new place, hoping the new boss treats you right, etc...

Wow, the last 15 minutes of the ALMS race were excellent!
![]() I had F1 on the tv and ALMS on the computer (espn3 internet stream). It was hard to pay attention to both but I never had to watch only commercials! F1 ended first of course which meant I could devote my full attention to the great ALMS finish. So, F1 was ok and the ALMS spoiler is below: Flying Lizard (Joerg Bergmeister and Patrick Long) got their (and Porsche's) second win in a row at Mosport. He held off the Corvette and Ferrari. On the last lap (which was actually about 3 minutes over how long they were supposed to run) the Ferrari dive-bombed the Corvette in Moss corner and got second. That gave Joerg some room but I was so nervous. They were running nose-to-tail in a 3 car train for the last 10 laps or so after a full course caution. It looked like that extra time might be their undoing but those guys are pros. Joerg raced clean. He was defensive at times but never swerved to block. Just stuck to his line and focused on being fast. The Corvette was fast on the straights but Bergmeister used the Porsche's rear weight bias to get the hole-shot out of Moss corner and just stay in front on the Andretti straight. This went on for laps. The Porsche looked to have the cornering speed to equal or surpass the others, which it should with the ginormous splitter and wing they have now. Great race!

After that I went over to the hangar and tidied up the wiring but still can't get power to the motor controllers. The battery managment system gets power (LEDs come on) when the low voltage battery is plugged in and the switch is flipped, and no smoke came out of anything so my wiring did not screw anything up.
I liked the soldering. It is light work and it results in nice, tidy wiring. I am sure I get that from my dad. He is like that so he clearly brainwashed me as a young'un.

I can't prove it, but I'm pretty sure my neighbor had his 5 year old walk up my stairs and steal my newspaper. I heard him say something and heard little footsteps and what sounded like a newspaper being picked up and handed to someone.

My other golden would wake me up as soon as the paper was tossed and I had to let her out so she could take care of her business and bring the paper in. The paper delivery technician would just put the paper at the end of each houses driveway. For a while I had my golden go a couple of houses in each direction and put their paper on their porch. They didn't notice or care when I asked them about it, so I had her stop. I could have easily stopped the paper and never missed an issue.

At my other house we had an orchard of about 12 fruit trees. One neighbor would send her 4 and 6 year olds overt from two blocks away to pick enough of our fruit to fill and ice chest and take it home. I followed them home and told the lady the fruit belonged to someone, she was contributing the the delinquency of minors by having them steal it, and we spent money on chemicals to keep the bugs out of the fruit. She still sent them. I emptied their ice chest and filled it with dirt three different times and she still kept sending them. Just had to keep watch and send them back home empty chested. Guess I should have called the police and had the lady charged. There was one apple tree that we never got any apples from. Somebody would pick the tree clean every year just as they got ripe. My dad wouldn't let me inject the apples with salt peter like I wanted to.
The neighborhood I live in now, my next door neighbor leaves his garage door open all the time, leaves his cars in the driveway with the keys in it stereo blaring and doors open, and has never had anything come up missing.

Oh there was one thing he had stolen. He bought an Escalade at a dealer auction. It was stolen the night he bought it and brought it home, BEFORE he had a chance to put the title in his name. Figures it was an inside job. He hasn't flipped an auction car since and he used to do about 2 a year.
