Azzy, if you are interested in Dinosaurs the national park is just east of SLC.

You can walk up and touch a real fossil still stuck in the side of a hill.

My 911s heater is amazing. It will blow crazy hot air and a lot of it within a mile of starting up from cold I have to turn the heat down.

I like the breville stuff. The last one went for more than 6 years before it stopped pushing water through itself. I got the bare bones one again - not into the fancy brews so getting one with all the fruit would be just a waste. The nut grinder would be handy though. We have a little electric nut grinder and a hand grinder (preferred method). I really don't mind grinding my nuts by hand, it's therapeutic

i had a hand crank coffee grinder. that thing made me crazy: after cranking away for ten minutes or more, i'd have about a tablespoon of grounds. i gave up and bought an electric one.

this weeks posts are looking up, nuts, grinding, women's bottoms, were getting there, the ??? meter is rising, lol.

I love the fresh ground beans and good coffee, I judge my cafes and restaurants on their coffee (and toilets too I suppose) but so far there are very few cafes or restaurants around MD that rate very high on my list. Maybe city folk know more about making a good coffee, really I feel sometimes that I should push the cafe's excuse for a barista out of the way and make my own!!!

i am a coffee snob. i won't drink bad coffee.

i have a coffee ritual in the morning:

6 scoops of beans. seven seconds in the grinder. 192F water. three minutes in the french press, pushed halfway down. at three minutes, push press and pour coffee. ours makes two decent sized mugs. and there is no substitute for good beans. there are about three brands of beans i've had that i consider good: mcmenamins, jack mormon coffee (local), the ones i roast.

The only vacuum packed coffee I've found that's worth drinking is café bustelo. I still run it through the grinder though as it needs to be a little finer for espresso. Got turned on to that stuff by a couple of central/south american and Cuban cigar acquaintances. It really is pretty good.
Other than that, I usually go with whole bean locally roasted stuff............and I only drink espresso.
