Morning Richard. My dog would fart and it would scare her, so she would whip around in a circle to see what just happened back there. It was funny but we all knew to run

Back when the world was black & white and I was a kid, I was part of a sleep over at a friends house. There were 5 boys and one boxer. Saturday morning and we were all crowded around the B&W TV watching cartoons. I left the room to get a banana and as I walked back into the living-room with 4 boys and a boxer the motion of the boxer's butt opening and closing caught my eye. I stopped dead in my tracks because I knew how bad the boxer's farts were. Within seconds all the boys were bailing out and gasping for air. It was real funny from my vantage point with clean air.

If it had not been a boxer with a cropped off tail the stuck straight up I would not have noticed and been caught in the horrible gas.

Good Friday morning folks.

Another busy day for me. One of the many regular customers called. They have 5 sites in Michigan and Minnesota they need aerial photos of. The is a long way away so we hired a aerial company in Ohio to fly them for us. To get the shots in Michigan will require a flight across 90 mils of lake Michigan. We don't have the life vests and water crossing equipment necessary to do that. It is cheaper to hire someone else to make that flight. We do flights for other companies all the time and it is very common.

Anyway is is neat to see how different the ground looks up in Yankee land. I can't even put my finger on the difference but I can tell that it is not anything from around here or Texas.

Moab is right there by some pretty landscape. I am guessing you are not there as a tourist.

Be glad you are not in Mexican Hat! That is a middle of nowhere place 125 miles to the south of Moab. We spent the night in Mexican Hat ON PURPOSE!

Bleep from Maryland, home of the ...............crabs!!

A Beeeeeautiful day of approx 75 degrees, just been sitting out on the front porch (almost typed porsche lol) having a cup of tea, and a sandwich for lunch. although listening to the news the weather is about to go to crap!!

Kept my self amused yesterday making my Christmas Wreath. Have yet to decorate it with some baubles etc, already have a couple of requests for some more, so much better than buying some gaudy thing made in China!!

The weather looks like it might be real bad for Yankee land. If the hurricane turns west into the cold air mass it will be a bad time in DC.

Frankenstorm might be on the way.

Yes, a friend went to the Commissary at Pax River Base today and said the line for groceries was out the door!!! Storm surge at the grocery store lol.

Me, I have the BBQ ready to go, plenty of canned stuff already in the cupboard, pasta, eski, gas fireplaces that don't need electricity to light up, same with the gas hot water, plenty of candles, and battery operated torches and lanterns, and a 4X4 Dodge Truck, think I am set. If the stuff in the freezer starts go defrost, then the big cauldren is going on the bbq and there will be a huge pot of curry going for the duration!!!

D, Gorgeous as in sunny, or gorgeous as in snowfields?

Completed the payment for the car today, sent all of the documents back to the seller Ian, with all of this 5hit weather, I am now looking at shipping her, just don't want to get stuck in a snow storm. Sad, but safe. Will do a roadtrip later in the spring or summer.

Azzy,

Do a few really simple things, and I have lived through any number of these things since moving here in the late '80's:

Fill your tubs with water, not for you, for the toilets. A bucket of water in the tank goes a long way towards bliss.

Gas the cars. Seems stupid but we have lost power for days during these type of storms. Just a peace of mind thing.

Charge all the devices...computers, etc.

Anytime they forecast snow or ice here the grocery stores go nuts.

Everyone wants to get the 3 whites: milk, bread & toilet paper. It is amazing the bread isle is empty, the milk is down to buttermilk only and the TP aisle is down to John Wayne TP.

ah, Paul, good idea about the bath, never thought of that bit, an essential me thinks. Steve is going out shopping for something this arvo so he will fill up the car, another thing I hadn't really thought of.. The neighbour has been running his generator today, he does it about once a month to make sure it is okay to go.
