Not really sure about that. Most of my engineering friends do stuff on the weekends at parties, no real hell-raising outside of that. The rest of the time they are productive. But those are engineering students...

Sweet! Fired up the 911 without putting the pre-muffler in place. Straight out of the headers. Fantastic sound!

I suppose it depends on how boring a place you live, Tassie was pretty boring!! Then moved on to Melbourne, not boring but lively, then moved all over Australia, I suppose I would have been called an itinerant worker, fruit picking stuff like that when I needed money.

Yea, I was more interested in working and making money so I could buy a 914. I remember seeing a high school friend buy a ounce bag of pot for 10 bucks. I figured that was crazy to spend that much for dope. I was cheap.

I was boring. I went to fraternity parties and stuff but never anything wild. Never did drugs. Didn't drink a whole bunch. The Asian glow got me before I got drunk. I had the same boyfriend through high school and college so didn't sleep around. But I never saw it as boring. I had a full ride scholarship that rode on the fact that I keep my GPA over 3.5. So I saw school as my job. And a way to keep from living on my own throughout college.

I don't regret that part. I regret not being more outgoing back then. Take more risks socially. Now I am a weirdo and pick up crazy things like getting into to cars and surfing but I like challenging myself in those ways. Not the partying, drinking/drug way. I don't look down upon that either though. Everybody finds their path. My parents were pot smoking hippies. My mom thinks its hilarious that I have never tried pot. Ha ha!

Max, my dad and I picked up the plane a few hours ago from another airport and brought it back to VNY. Unfortunately, the radio problem persists. Back to the shop it goes!

Airplane radios are just stunningly expensively priced. Of course anything for airplanes are crazy prices.

I will admit that I wish I had been more social back in the day, then it would not be so hard to start this late. But it didn't appeal to me then, and it still doesn't appeal to me all that much now. A large part of that is the anxiety of trying something new, though.

Max, in the day? Hate to break it to you but you still have opportunity. Heck, I am almost 40 and I started "late". Never too late. I hope to be pushing myself when I am 70. I am learning every day. Tomorrow is a new day to do something different you didn't do yesterday. Just sayin'. If I thought it was too late, gosh! What a depressing life I would lead because there are a heck of a lot of things that I didn't try "back in the day" that I am sure gonna try now!

Not saying it is "too late", just late. Most everyone else has some experience with the relationship thing.

What were you studying under that scholarship, by the way?

Why not smarty pants? I think if I didn't have that scholarship I might have been a little more wild but maybe not. I wouldn't have had money to go wild if I was paying for school myself. It was literally my job to do well in school. Let's see. Back then, it was worth about what? At least $2000 a year in in-state tuition. And then I had scholarships to cover books. To work at a minimum wage job back then, there is no way I could have made that good of money and go to school. So the way I saw it, do well in school, get paid for it. I lived in the honors dorm the first year but then I found an apartment complex that if you were on the deans list every semester, they gave you a discount on rent. It was awesome. I was a poor college student but I found ways to pay for it.

Started out pre-med. Biology major. But volunteered at the medical center and realized I wanted more patient contact and medical school life, residency, and all that is hard if you wanted a family. So, I switched to nursing my freshman year.

W00t! Less than a cup of oil lost in taking the main oil plug out to put the washer on. Now that's how you do it when you've F'd it up!

Because I thought I was smart in high school, then I started the Mechanical Engineering program here, along with my classmates who were also the smart kids at their schools, and found out just how much I have left to learn.

I've been doing well for the past couple years, but I have only had a 3.5 average for the quarter three times, let alone a GPA of 3.5!
