I'm due for an oil change in the 911, too. I have a case of Brad Penn ready.

The DD Honda also needs an oil change. I have oil for that, too.

If that wasn't car-busy enough for tomorrow, now I also have to fix the pass side power window on the 911. It will go down, but not up. WTF? Just started today. I figure I'll have to take the door panel off. Bound to be a minor PITA.

Finally, the biggest bummer of the weekend is a sudden death of the brother of a childhood friend. We attended kindergarten through high school together. I realized when we graduated that at age 17, we had been good friends for 13 years. He was the 4th of 5 sons. Each of the 5 sons has grown up to be the kind of kid you'd be super proud to have as a son; all very accomplished and good guys, to boot. His eldest brother (at only age 48) died last Monday while playing hoops at his church. I'm guessing heart attack. Visitation is Sunday afternoon, funeral Monday.

RE: Window. Does this happen with both the passenger and driver (for pax) switches?

Sorry, dude.

Yes. Both the driver's door switch and pass door switch will lower the window, but not raise it. The driver's side window works just fine.

Thanks. I had a professor from fellowship (I wrote a book chapter with him) pass away last month, but he was older so it wasn't totally unexpected.

Now I remember! The passenger switch is looped from the drivers side to the pax. If one of the switches die (I forget which, maybe if either die), the other switch won't work either. Borrow the drivers side switch for the drivers window and put it in both positions of the pax side. I can help if you'd like. I had the same thing happen.

Thanks, Dave. I did not know they're looped. I actually think I have an extra/spare switch (new in box) sitting on a shelf. That would be an easy peasy fix. Pop out the switch, swap the wiring, and hopefully presto. Would be a lot quicker than taking off the door panel.

Maybe I'll see if I can do it tomorrow morning. Mrs. Noah is off to a yoga class (with a MILFy friend) in the morning. They say that if I were to attend one of these yoga classes I'd probably have a heart attack from all the sweaty, spandex-clad women with rockin' bodies there.

The only problem to the easy peasy fix.... The wires are pretty short! The switch barely comes out, so be careful that the wires don't fall into the door. Take pix of the wiring! Needle nose pliers really help out here. You'll also probably find that the wires are pretty tarnished from the moisture that gets in there. Maybe some corrosion too.

Company I work for that bought the Tesla roadster restored a Karman Gia (It was the CEO's first car) with a Porsche 914 motor. When they finally finished they had an extra Porsche engine left over so they bought a Beck Speedster to put it in.

Isn't there s company that is producing real 917's from the original plans?

Buongiorno!

We went bombing around northern MD and into Lancaster County, PA in the 964 Garage Queen. We managed to find a number of twisty roads...great fun. Saw a few of these.

Today, we're going to the National Aquarium in Baltimore. This beats the hell out of holiday shopping.

Good morning folks. Watching F1 qualifying live. All the commercials suck. We normally record and watch later.

Does anyone outside of Maranello really think Fred has a chance? Even in monsoon conditions? It would take a miracle for Alonso to pull it off. Not impossible, but a miracle nonetheless.

Man, I love 4-day weekends. (Even if I had to work a half day yesterday.)

I really need to win the lotto.

Yeah, my Targa is on it's way back home. Looks like it has a sticking rf caliper. I think it is going to be a while before dad gets to have it back this time.
Gonna be a tough decision every morning...................which Porsche to drive.
