Shape of 911 creates low pressure area at roof. Opening sun roof lets cabin air try to fill low pressure area. If heater ducting is open it will draw air through the exchangers to fill the low pressure from under/the rear of the car. At least that is what I was tolded. Never had a 911 so don't know.

Does not work on water cooled Porsches because it is the circulation of water and not just air that provides the heat.

In an ideal world that would work with the sun roof, but due to the amount of ducting in the front, flappers, fresh air, a/c system, any body leaks and the distance from the rear to the front would cause that energy/force to be split up amongst all of that and not make a noticeable difference on once specific unit.

right now my a/c isn't charged and when I am on the highway with the windows up to minimize noise, I open the sunroof to help suck more air in through my fresh air vents and anywhere else I have air leakage. I just really need to get my a/c recharged.

Edit: Windows only really up because Fiance doesn't like all the noise and wind. When I am by myself, it's windows down, huge smile and music rockin out.

The only time my windows are down is for an autocross or to go to a drive through. The AC or the heater is usually on. Sometimes both if Mrs Carrera is cold.

Early Porsches (through '74) have plenty of heat and no fan back there... The engine cooling fan provides plenty of warm air except when sitting still. If you have a later model with fan, the fan actually blocks the flow of warm air if it does not run.

In the winter time, I don't even open the flapper boxes all the way. Looks like a back date is happening this winter.... YAY!

You plotted it against the GPS speed? Because you did 5mph increments and if the gain was linear it should have changed the same amount each time.

I was installing the new fuel filter last night when Mrs Carrera came out to the garage so I had her shoot the traditional photo of the the man in the engine compartment.

What do you think Tweeze? A George Clooney look alike,

Hey, are you calling me an elf????

I find it helps bring the elves if you leave lots of $100 bills in the engine compartment. It helps buy the parts needed.
