Just spoke with the service manager of the dealership...... they replaced the park brake actuator and that's good to go..... bit she told me that my thermostat housing is leaking as well as my transmission pan....I told her I was aware of the thermo housing and that it was a slow leak, but that they'd just serviced the transmission and replaced the pan 3 weeks ago so they'd need to handle that....she asks to call ke back.....calls back says tranny is fine, but thermo housing is leaking so bad it's dripping on the transmission. ....wtf....is that even possible?
I'm close to giving rebirth to the term postal

well, the front main seal on the rover has failed. the gasket on the right engine cover on the ducati has failed. why do the vehicles go down in pairs?

anyway, special tools (ducati) and parts (rover) are ordered. the rover may need a sleeve on the pulley, also. so, i'll take that apart tomorrow and see what it looks like and order a sleeve as necessary.

there is my FB style post of the day.

one more rant: why is it that no one has the parts for my vehicles in stock, locally? are rovers THAT uncommon? no one had the main seal, except napa had it in a kit for the timing cover, $109 for the kit. it is a $9 part.

Oh, I got tools... Including a lift. Its really not that bad of a job, especially since I'm not monkeying with the water pump this time.

Just always nice to have an extra set of hands.

Morning Y'all

Richard you have to come up with a name for the soon to be monster kitty.

The best name I have ever heard for a pet came from FastPat, who couldn't come up with a name either.

They had two dogs and that was all they wanted, they ended up with this extra dog through a series of events, so that is what they named the dog, Extra.
I like this. Call it Ed - Extra Dog.

Sell it before you replace the car one part at a time.

Oh yeah, the thermostat housing is a 4 hour job, because you have to take the freaking intake manifold off to get to it....

I'm really leaning towards trading in on a Cayenne so long as I can get it running with no obvious problems for more than 25 miles...
