No they want to do the mapping part of the job. When we fly a large area in can be hundreds or even many thousands of photos. All of those have to be tied together and tied to points on the earth. It is called an ortho-photo. If the image not done properly the roads and features will not match to other maps. It is way more complex than that but that is the Cliff notes version.

I'll take your word for it. Sounds complicated. Also you are right it had better be right.

And why would Glen outsource his own job!

I understand cheaper labor, but the outsource to India for phone support ticks me off. I'm platinum member with IHG rewards, and one benefit they give with that is a special phone line for reservations for the platinum guys, you don't have to wait to talk to someone. But when you call it you still get a middle eastern call center, and I have I repeat everything multiple times and can barely understand them. Not a benefit IMHO.

One of the guys that works at the same University as my wife is from India. He had an tech support issue with some product. He called and got hold of some guy with a terrible accent and he could not understand the tech support guy. He finally asked him where he was from. They were from the same area and they finished the conversation in that dialect.

Called tech support for a company in England once. The chick that answered the phone spoke english, and I understood every word she said. BUT…her Brittish accent was very thick and she talked so fast I had to think about what she said before I answered and it actually made my brain hurt. I apologized for being a slow country bumpkin from America throwing in a little drawl. She laughed, slowed down, and it was much easier to communicate with her. Luckily the actual tech guy didn't have such a thick Brittish accent.

Most times when I ask they won't tell me where I'm calling. Its not that I would get mad it is more of an interest.

I think it is funny when they answer the phone with a very thick Indian accent and introduce themselves as Bob or John. Yea, right.

The guy who used to work on out KIP copier was called "D". There was no way you were going to pronounce his name.

One of the employees where my wife works has a 20 character last name. They always use his name in a test of any computer entry screen that requires names. If that fits and works they figure that is enough.

They have a few people with a single character last name.

Evening Y'all.
I wonder how I would be doing a tech support line. Lots of cuss words, common sense answers and a few insults thrown in for good measure.

Think I'm gonna repaint the duc in truck bed liner, whole exhaust in flat black header enamel, have the header crossover opened, air box mod and then put a power commander in.
