Was sitting at a red light about 4 cars back in this...

Heard tires lock up behind me then a crunching noise. Felt a bump, but not enough to actually move the truck forward any at all. Got out an see the whole front end of a Buick crunched and smoking with radiator juice dripping. The Buick had bounced back about 6 feet from the back of the Jimmy. Get around to look at the back of my truck and all I find is some new yellow paint on the trailer hitch ball.

Just about that time, a cop stops that is going the opposite direction, points at the Buick and says, "It's your fault." Points at my Jimmy and says, "Looks like you didn't even get a scratch, do you guys want me to fill out a report or not?" The Buick guys says, "No. he didn't want it on his insurance." I walked over, wiped the paint off my trailer hitch and said. "All fixed, I'm good." The cop shrugged and drove on.

Exchanged info and I drove off. Saw him limp his car to a parking lot leaving a trail of fluids. Whole front end was crunched with hood and fenders crinkled with a vee in the bumper were my 8 inch dropped hitch left it's impression, bet his Buick was totaled. Never heard from him so don't think he reported the accident.

Man, that ol' Jimmy was tank worthy.

Little over a year ago I was turning right out of a parking lot while in my Series.....thunk......looked behind me and the guy behind me had crumpled his jeep patriot into the back of my Landy....he thought I was going to go, but I didn't have enough room in the old slow Rover. His Jeep was screwed, the radiator took a little paint of my hitch ball so I threw some spray paint at it

Reminds me of the lines in the Castle Anthrax scene of Monty Python's Holy Grail...

Spank me. No, me. No, me. Spank us all, we've all been bad.

This is all the cosmetic damage to the rover, the shop is supposed to pick it up shortly to see what else is wrong

Look like it's got a big oil slick running out from under it.

The 911 tech section has some funny stories about guys getting a 911 home and doing a first oil change. 10 quarts of HOT oil gushing out into a 4 quart pan makes a real mess.

Evening Y'all.
Joe glad your okay, remember soft tissue injuries may take several days to weeks to manifest themselves, and usually get worse as the insurance companies drag crap out and try to screw you.
Sid if you can register the bug outside of Phoenix or Tuscon you won't need to smog it.

I have a hunch the news won't be good about the rover...i could see one of the frame mount points for the hitch was tweaked

I doubt they would be willing to spring for a frame machine for a ten year old vehicle. That is my biggest fear of someone hitting Peggy. Being 28 years old I think a folded fender would get get totaled

oh, wow. i thought it was your OTHER rover.... its just the disco... meh... still sucks, but not to nearly the extent that it would if it were the other.

tell you what, let's get our two rovers together and make on that runs properly again.

glad you are okay, joe.

The chick who hit me would probably be in the hospital had it been my other rover, no bumper just the steel cross member.
