Yup. Just trying to line up some help to bleed the brakes...
Need to do some organizing too. Gotta get bikes hanging up to make some space. |

Back from breakfast. I did some more break in driving. Drove up Rt 66 again up to Luther. On the way back I stopped at Pop's.
![]() ![]() This is just one one the aisles of soda pop. Peanut butter & Jelly? There is a large cooler with all sorts of soda. I skipped the selection and just continued on my drive. I have a little over 400 miles on the engine now.

I've got the crappy little one-man bleeder from Harbor Freight. No chance for me to line up help with 3 little ones at home. I've been known to raid the hospital supply room for auto/bike maintenance projects, too.

Isn't that the reason people go to Med School? To raid supply?

yeah, i tried that stupid bleeder, too. complete waste of time. the syringe works like a charm, however. i swiped a bunch of clear tubing from the bipap tubing systems (we throw that piece away, so i was really just fishing them from the trash). as you depress the brake pedal, with the tubing attached to the zerk, it pushes the fluid into the syringe, filling it. piece of cake.

Actually, I think I've figured out the HF bleeder. I thought it was crap, then couldn't conscript Mrs. Noah to help me one time, so I went back to the HF bleeder. I've used it on a couple vehicles since then without problems.
Over on the technical forum there was a thread last week (this week?) on gravity bleeding. Maybe I'll try that next time. One man, easy peasy, little mess. Famous last words.

Motive power bleeder works good. I also had good luck with those hand pump vacuum sucker bleeders too. The Motive you just have to make sure the tubing is replaced often as it will crack with age blow out and spray brake fluid everywhere.

If you are willing to pull the calipers I can tell you how to bleed the car all by yourself easy

Remove the caliper from the saddle and carefully apply the brakes to extend the piston, being careful not to over extend and pop it. open the bleeder and push the pistons back, close the bleeder and top off the fluid. Lather rinse repeat

I've used a wood clamp to do ricks method on the rover with success sid....ya just need something with finger that won't scratch anything so you can compress the pistons. Otherwise, with 8 slaves, the rover is an absolute beotch

Just to be clear when I need to bleed brakes I just grab my Motive pressure bleeder. I never use vacuum on a vehicle with ABS.
