After I got married I moved into Mrs. Carrera's house and put my house on the market. It only had a two car garage so the El Camino was outside in our driveway.

Someone in the neighborhood was "the mad spitter." About 4 times a year I would get in my car and there was a huge dried loogie on the windshield. Fortunately the wipers would clean it off.

One day someone egged the Elky. There was an egg right in the middle of the bed. I have a rubber mat in the bed of the Elky and the egg actually ate some of the finish off of that tough rubber mat. If I have to be egged, that is the best spot for it. No significant damage. 19 years later the surface of the rubber mat still has a slight difference in that spot.

i drove up the street. six cars total were egged. i am pretty sure this happened between 10.15 and noon, in broad daylight, as we left the house at 10.15 drove right past my car and i am pretty sure i'd have noticed the entire driver's side windows coated in egg. the impact point was the stem of the mirror, so you can imagine that there was egg everywhere, along with the paint removed at the point of impact.

Whew.

The world went away for a few minutes. The internet went down and the phone service here was dead. The same company provides both for us.

The worst part was no Pandora music and Pelican. I almost had with drawls. I was going to have to use my iPhone to play music through the computer speakers.

It is all good now.

Wow, it actually removed paint.

Was it the impact or the egg that removes paint?

it is the impact of the shell. the way the egg breaks on impact, the shell breaks in a circular pattern, folding in such a way that the sharp edges of the fractures gouge the paint.

if the egg had hit anywhere else, there would be concentric pattern of circles, the size and shape of the egg. i've seen it on my friend's car.

as it is, it removed about a square centimeter of paint from the mirror stem, down to the coating.

That sucks.

I always wish I could be there the very moment that vandal gets a new car and egg his car and then remind him of the eggs he threw in 2014.

Wrapped a few cars in toilet paper, and one in cling wrap and underwear, but never egged anyone.

The Maserati arrived while Mom was getting out of the Rover. Didn't see the woman in the paint department so she wasn't there after a drop cloth or heavy duty cleaning supplies. Car was still there when I left.

Spotted the other Grantourismo at the corner cleaners early in the morning. It was a different color and a guy in a suit was driving it. Didn't hang around to listen to the car drive off.

Evening Rick and the rest. I have the magic 500 miles on my engine. I can affirm that 964 cams, and the boat tailing of the case makes for a fun ride. The power band starts sooner and goes further.

I am hoping my car will sound like this when the MFI system comes back restored, but without the little pops.

Yea, beating a electrical problem is great. Feeling the full power of the engine rebuild is even more fun.

I was happy dancing when I got my brake lights to work yesterday. Taking the tail lights apart was a slow process.
