The 911 has never leaked any antifreeze! I has leaked some coolant in the past, but that is fixed.

Guy's wife went to pick up 914 at the dealership. Got home and she had paid $400 for a new radiator. Guy was livid, took the 914 back and demanded they show him the new radiator. Turned out the bill was for someone else's car.

Oh you know I have the hammer pulled back on that round

LOL!

i really was sweating the head gasket. i mean, two out of three vehicles already.... why not a trifecta?

i really do think that leak started today, as the coolant level in the reservoir is nearly full, still.

anyway, you narrowly avoided a phone call, rick.
Glad you aren't popping a head off! I just saw your timing belt tools in my box. You want me to go ahead and send them back?

That was fun and came out looking great. Couple of people actually paid me to do the same pics of their cars after seeing it.

Also got paid to take pics of my car and do a bunch of color changes so he could decide what do do with custom interior...

Think he liked Green

He never did send me pics after the interior install.

Morning

Can't sleep yet...lying here trying...gotta get up at 3:30am for the drive up to Melbourne to catch the boat to Tassie. Sharyn's parents are driving her up later in the day to catch the flight across. If all goes well I'll arrive about an hour before she does.

It is gonna be another pretty day here.

I will get that second brake light switch replaced. Since it helps to remove the fresh air blower to get to it I will remove and replace that, and while I am in there I can replace the one way valve t fittings for the squirters. Three projects in one.

Argh, spoke to soon....The timing was a hair off...about 2-3 degrees actually. Got it adjusted, shocked myself, dropped a 13 mm wrench in the fan then spent 20 minutes looking for the damn thing....now I know the job is done right!

Through the good graces of a welder the little honda is back on the road. The chick I got it from never ran it hard and lived so close to work it never really got to warm up. I solved both of those issues on the drive home. It wants to run but it has forgotten how to, it will be schooled in the art of getting out of it's own way. It has squeeky brakes, squeeky sawybars, squeeky struts, it's like driveing Ernie's rubber ducky......

Morning again.

I've just joined a great conga line of cars, caravans, trucks (real ones), and busses.

Looking like another 'hurry up and wait' moment

Went back to the car to get something and noticed that none of the vehicles are tied down to the deck. I'm guessing that means its not gunna be a rough trip.

I saw my mechanic today. I mentioned the DE and the 92db (though it says 90 on the Motorsportsreg site) limit and he said my car wouldn't pass, only if I lift for the sound booth. He said even a stock muffler might fail, since 911s are just inherently noiser than a new water cooled model. I will talk to my friend, whom has run Laguna Seca, before I spend $500 on the entry fee. I assume the parade laps have the noise limit too.

Phew. I took the fresh air blower out to replace the motor and have easy access to the back brake switch. Got bot the switch replaced and the new motor in. Swapping motors is a pain. The plastic cage fan is just pressed on wit a TIGHT FIT. Got er done. The new motor is a lot quieter. .

It ain't fun sitting my fat ass in the trunk of a 911.
