I'll have mine strapped and secure before you can get yours in a hatch.

All I asked was whether a bike would fit in a 944 or the BMW. I don't need help choosing the cars I want. Yes, the Boxster would be more fun but the BMW would be more practical. Gotta do the plastic kit and watch the rear subframe bushings, but the Boxster could break out of the blue without the IMS bearing update. Plastic read windows suck too.

I leave the seats down all the time (makes a great place to store my sunshade). Central locking means I hit the hatch release button, lift the tailgate, take the front wheel off, lay bike in, lay wheel in, close hatch. Done. 2 minutes tops.

Though it's one bike on the rack. Two adds a little more time to get it right.I really don't know. I've only had the front wheel off a handful of times. I just realized how I could have put my 29er in the Corolla from the right side and possibly avoided the grease issue, but that's a pain where I park. Besides, the rack solved that problem as well.

Why is it I am tired in the morning and sometimes through the day, but when it gets to be 10pm I can't sleep?

I went riding with my son this weekend. Took the Civic. I couldn't get my sister's bike rack to work on my car (WTF kind of car it's made for, I am not sure), so I folded the rear seats down and tossed our bikes in the trunk. Well, I got mine in the trunk in about 2 minutes. But I couldn't fit his kiddie bike in there, too (no quick releases on that thing). So I slipped it into the back seat area. What a PITA.
Stowing a single bike in the trunk of a car isn't too bad. But it's hard to do it with multiple bikes. For you two single guys, that'll be a problem when dating. Seriously, Dave. Santa Monica bike path. Ride from Sunset Blvd to Torrance and back. It's gotta be about 20-30 miles total. There are chicks everywhere. Sure, some are busy getting their fitness in. But there are others who are single and ready to mingle, too.

Speaking of kids and bikes... I'm looking at picking one of these up. Our youngest is only good for about a mile before he's "tired" but the oldest want so go on. This way I could pull the little fart even when he's tired. Would be a good workout too.

I've seen that a lot. I also saw one connecting tube thingie that actually had a solid bar between the adult seat post (I'm presuming--the rig was going the other way on the bike path), and the head tube of the kid's bike, lifting the kid's bike's front tire off the ground. Effectively did the same thing as the set-up you've posted, but it allows the kid to ride his bike normally if you disconnect the tube.

I'm thinking I don't want that option.
. He has a bike, but on a longer ride this would be nice, and would keep him from trying to wander off.

If the rack is on my car, under a minute. It's really that easy, including the bungees.
