Why is it when I visited Dave's album page there was an ad for shopping for Bras at Nordstrums?

Got caught on the turnpike (very limited pulling over areas) in a real gully washing toad strangler. Was in my Boxsters when it was practically brand spanking new, had all season continentals on it, but the water on the road was so deep couldn't go over 40mph without hydroplaning and couldn't see more then two car lengths. Freakin trucker were doing 70 and washing people off the road. Pull off at the first exit and had a hot lunch while the storm passed. Saw all kinds of emergence vehicles lights a blazin headed for the on ramp.

Ran into a couple of frog floaters in Texas one in the Boxter the other in a Passat. The water on the roadway was 4 inches deep, both times! Luckily the traffic was doing every bit of 5 mph. Thought I was going to have to re-register my vehicles for lake use.

I loved the pics, Dave. I'm kind of bummed out that my schedule of trips to SoCal this year misses events like this. Since i book my trips very far in advance, I need to find out when next year's event(s) will be held. Since I'll have the garage queen available...

Have never been farkin golfing.

Do have a nephew that is s muckity muck in the golfing world. He managed Pebble Beach including running the pro shop for several years. He now manages and oversees the construction of zero environmental impact golf courses in or near game/wildlife preserves. Went to college on a golf scholarship, decided going pro/am was just too much travel and got into managing instead. Has played to fill in with just about all the big name golfers and gets asked frequently because he is on parr with them (pun intended).

I tried golf once. I felt like it was a total waste of time.

My dad was an Air Force officer. He played golf all over the world. One of the perks of his job in intelligence was on a regular basis the a general would call him and "ask" to meet him on the golf course. Funny thing when the general calls everyone somehow can be there on time and the prime tee times are always available and open and no one behind you wants to play through.

My wife tricked me last night. She asked if I had anything special planned for the weekend. I told her just some garage time and she informed me I have a date with a shovel and lots of holes to dig.

Good Friday morning folks!

Cool pics Dave.

Are the fish eye pics with a Go-pro or do you have a real fisheye for your regular camera?

I saw a set of actual lenses that fit on a iPhone. You can put on a superwide fisheye, a mild telephoto or even a macro lens. I am waiting for the day when my cell phone has a real glass zoom lens that changes from super-wide to super-telephoto has 100 megapixels and automatic stabilization, night vision and even FLIR. At the current rate of change it will be just a few more years.

GASP!

My brother finally got a smart phone last week. The first text message I ever sent him was "Welcome to the 21st century"

I resisted a smart phone and did not see the need. Now I would HATE not having one. I use the computer power and the technology far more than the phone part. To have a GPS at my side and the internet available is something I am addicted to. The camera is amazing.

When I was stuck in the hospital during my hip replacement my phone kept me from being bored to tears.

I sipped the kool-aid and I will never go back to a non-smart phone. YMMV

Only data I really use my phone for is email and if in a pinch, or "out and about" can manage my servers from it.

Have a brother with a phone with just talk and texts. The address book, and texting interfaces like totally suck.
