So accounting for coefficient of friction, coefficient of drag, driveline losses, humidity, air temperature. Oh wait, I hate math.
I know they are plenty quick. A friend of mine had access to one for a while as the dad of his then girlfriend owned one and let hem drive it anytime he wanted. Sometimes I think he chose girlfriends based on the cars available to him through them. Really I was just joshing with you a bit. Sorry if it came across badly.

There's some rocket surgeon in the UK with an Elan like I have...... He's got it trimmed down to just under 2000lbs.....not extreme......and he bored and stroked the engine then supercharged it........I seem to recall he had cracked 500hp and was going for 550.....out of an engine that started life as a 1.4l

My first car was a 1960 VW bug with 36 HP when new. I bet I did not have 30 HP when I owned it.
My second car was a brand new 1973 Bug with 60 HP. The first time I ran to redline I was amazed how fast it was. My third car was a new 1974 914 2.0 with 95HP. I bought it in September 1974. It was a rocket with a 10 second 0 to 60 time. I bought my daily driver El Camino in Oct of 1991 It came with that powerhouse 305 V8 with something like 140 HP and it could not spin the tires from a dead stop. I bought my 1985 911 in August of 1995 with 200 HP. I sold the 914 in 1996. My 200 HP 911 is the fastest car I have ever owned. Since 1974 I hove only owned 3 cars and I still own two of them. I don't count the numerous cars my wife has had since we got married back in 1992. My name is on the title but they are her cars.

I have had several high HP cars, a couple of B and RB Chryslers and a rather nasty Camero with a 73 Pontiac LT 350 in it and sure they were blindingly strong, they were useless on the roads and where I live you could never even use half of the HP unless you were on the interstate. There isn't much around here that can leave me behind with either of my low number Porsches but a great big number of people who get tiny in the mirror. One thin I have learned over the years is there is much more to going fast than just HP.
The nastiest thing I ever built for myself was my old Ramcharger, it would light up all four, on dry pavement at 60mph, it was insanity, and totally useless

flipper...it's easy to get caught-up in HP Wars.
I was very active in such prior to 911 ownership... glad I got out as theres definitely something to be said about a quick car that you can enjoy. Otherwise, you'll always be loosing because there's always anohter guy with deeper pockets or willing to accrue more debt for more hp. I have a buddy with an awesome '02 WS6 T/A...puts a 697 to the tire, he thinks it needs 1000. It ROASTS 315dr's on an 80mph roll. Just silliness

He is likely too short to touch the door knob.
We had some relatives from out of state drop by a couple of years ago. They dropped by our house as a place to change clothes before they went to a funeral. They had a toddler. I carefully explained to the kids mom our house is 100% NOT childproof. Breakable items are on the floor, the cabinets do not have child proof locks and we have poisonous items in the cabinets and other hazards in the house. She grabbed the kid and kept it in her lap for the hour they were here.

Toddlers in my house are viewed as things to chase and chomp on. My kitties love the grandkids

Yeah, my GTS is close to 350 hp at the rear wheels. Porsche says 350 at the crank, they lied.
My last 951 2.5 liter put down 408 rwhp on the dyno. 1st gear was useless. It was quicker at 340 rwhp. Dude in UK has an 82 928 with over 1000 rwhp on the bottle. Public road 928 speed record is 212 mph made on a Silver State Classic Postal run with a 928 stroker motor in it. There is currently a guy trying to beat that record with a supercharged stock motor. He has only officially been clocked in the speed traps on postal runs and at bonneville at 208 mph.

It is just amazing how cheap crazy HP in a Chevy engine.
Chevrolet Performance 19201334, Chevrolet Performance ZZ572ci/720HP Engine | Chevrolet Performance 720 HP for 14.5K would look good in my El Camino.

The tire companies would love you as well. I rode in a big block EC and it chirped the tires every shift and he was only at half throttle or so it seemed since it was upshifting at fairly low revs.
Well, time to run home and change into something nicer and head back to town for the company Christmas party. Oh joy. Get home late a bright and early tomorrow we have a few hours training and then lunch. Have a good weekend all.

Over on El Camino Central there is guy with lots of money and the willingness to spend it.
He essentially has modified Corvette with a El Camino body. It is all Vette suspension and drive train. He has a video of him running at a track and he chases down and passes a Lotus. It would interesting to know just how much he spent. It is very professional looking.
