Go pi55 on it. I'm betting they won't do it again

How does everyone seem to mix up the plug wires on re-installation.....do one at a time ! I pull one wire off, replace it with one wire, and it's always correct.

When you change the intake on a SBC you have to pull the distributor, it's easy to mess up, even for the pros.

Rick- i dropped the dist. in the correct way, on my firewall rotor mark, the first time.

ckelly--I was kicking myself (quietly) for not marking the wires myself instead of going off the markings from the PO on the dist. cap. I left the wires on the cap so I could just reattach them. I sat the cap on but 2 or 3 of the wires were now not long enough. Sonofa......

If I had my laptop there you guys would have had a post asking for help.

Rick-I know there is a trick to "starting over" when running plug wires but I am not sure>>

You can start plug #1 wherever the rotor is pointing and then follow the firing order around the cap?

Engine at TDC, rotor pointing to number one, follow the firing order and distributor direction.

Gotta love working in a T-Shirt and having a friend in Utah sending you pictures of his morning commute to work in a snow storm.

Built up a couple of motors in my day. If I got the wires wrong, I didn't notice.

Only problem I had on the first one is I didn't know the difference between a ftlb torque wrench and an inlb torque wrench. In my defense where the wrench was marked inlb was rubbed off. Did seem kinda loose. Lasted a whole 250 miles before it started falling apart.

LOL! the commute home was much smoother, but it is STILL snowing. this is the biggest storm of the winter for us. it is supposed to be in the high 60's again this weekend.

my drive normally takes 25 minutes or less, from the time i walk out the door to the time i clock in. it was an hour and five minutes this morning. suckage.

Yeah, that's always a good thing.

I have four Mondays next week and then I'm bugging out to SoCal for a little over a week. I'm ready.

G'day G

We had one very light isolated shower while on the golf course this arvo. There could be a little more rain tonight as I can hear a bit of thunder in the distance and my fur kid is unsettled.
