Although, after hanging out together for a month there a while back I was getting real comfortable with being together every day. Kinda really missed that close contact everyday when she went back to work and I was still bludging at home.

Well we survived the night and all was quiet. The residents of Moore, OK had a very loud and wet night. In the end we received a nice 3/4 inch rain and some mild winds last night. Parts of Moore received 8 inches in 24 hours. Much of that was yesterday afternoon. Bridge Creek was slammed hard with another F3 and they were hit hard back on May 3rd 1999.

Storms can hit anywhere but for some reason Moore has a tornado bullseye drawn on it.

Glad you didn't blow away. The rain is probably needed?

Glad you guys are ok. I can't imagine how the folks in Moore deal with the devastation.

The rain is welcome. It will be interesting to see if the lakes fill up. They have to go up a lot.

One of the stories I heard told by a friend that he heard from a friend's cousin next door neighbor so it is likely BS but...

A guy bought a house in Moore that he planned to fix up while he lived there and then flip it. He bought full replacement insurance so the insurance company pays to rebuild the house. His house was destroyed on May 3rd. 1999. Bingo, brand new house. He gets it landscaped and sells it for a nice profit and moves to a nicer house in Moore to flip. It gets destroyed. Bingo new house. Flip that and move again. Guess what. Now he lives in a very nice new house that he had rebuilt just like he wanted. He has no old photos or family heirlooms but he has a nice house.

My house is insured for full replacement. If it is destroyed the insurance rebuilds it just like it was. That would cost more than the house would sell for right now.

It's great to hear that you Okies came out of the storm unscathed. Tornadoes are bad ju-ju.

Good to hear that you didn't have any damage for the night. 8" of rain can be more destructive than a tornado sometimes. We've had several tornados within a few miles of us over the last several years....luckily no damage.

I'm no weather guru and never slept in a Holiday Inn, but...

I think the tornado alley is form by the combination in the landscape of open fields, houses, and concrete that breeds and feeds them thar tarnaidies.

oh yeah, Good Morning.

Yes, I find a much greater self-entertainment value when adding random southern accents to my responses

As far as destruction floods are way out front over everything else. Floods kill way more people than any other natural disaster. Avalanches, earthquakes, Tsunamis and wildfires kill more people and do more damage.

I figure a Tsunami is as risky as a killer meteor for us.

List of natural disasters by death toll - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lots of ways mother nature can reduce the population. Tornadoes are certainly a threat, but they are just a minor problem with today's technology.

Wow, I just finished up a client's order and it went very smooth.

It was very refreshing to deal with a young para legal lady at a very LARGE and old established law firm. She was smart and was clear in what she needed and quick to understand how we do our part. The best part she did not start to gasp and choke when I quoted prices.

So often we talk to some lawyer with a firm that is huge and they are working on a mega million dollar lawsuit and then they whine when we actually want to get PAID a fair price for what we do.

I suspect she will go far in her career. I hope she is as cute as she sounded. I would Google her to find out but I don't want to be a internet stalker.
