Morning all
Tomorrow is Territory Day. It a celebration of self government for Australia's Northern Territory, granted back in the '80s. We don't get a public holiday but we do get to let off fireworks. We used to buy a few for the kids entertainment when they were young. Not anymore though. These days we stay home and watch other people waste their money and comfort the fur kid. He thinks the worlds gunna end.

Evening Y'all,
Well the Bocster came home on the back of a flatbed tonight, this is the second time, there will not be a third. Yeah I have a few hours of work ahead of me just to replace one bolt, that will wait until I calm down, I have a torch and I am not afraid to use it, but right now I am too mad to use it properly. On a good note I talked to CashFlyer today and he isn't planning on coming up next week to get the big stupid truck and really has no set time to do it so I get to keep it for a while longer. It really is a lot of fun

My first golden was gun trained. Took her to a local big fireworks show. She was just fine until the grand finale with all those that just make a very loud boom. Then she bolted. Hit the end of the leash so hard it broke. About a half a block away a car full of Mexicans opened a car door, she jumped right in on top of them. They freaked and bailed out of the car. It was difficult to stay concerned about my dog it was so hilarious. About that time the grand finale ended and she jumped out of the now empty car and came running to me laughing my a55 off.

My brother gave me my first actual firecrackers when I was 5. Until then all I got to play with was sparklers. I did only get to light them with a punk and supervised though.

Waiting here to pick up the kids from the bus for summer camp. The milfyness is ridiculous. Do they all wear spandex because they go to spin class or pilates before they pick up their kids?

![]() So I'm going to be going on a business trip to China. Not sure when, how long, or how many places yet. My boss is aiming for August. I had to apply for a new passport today (old one was way too old). Then once I get it we need to sort out visas. Going to go with a buddy from work who does fuel injectors. I'm going to be supporting my new fuel pressure regulator, him the new injectors to go with it. We'll almost certainly fly into Shanghai where IMPCO China is, then go visit customers. There are two projected to have the majority of the volume. One is between Shanghai and Beijing, the other is down south by Vietnam. I'm worried about getting sick. There is a lady at work who is from Taiwan, she said don't worry, says she took her kids there at a very young age and didn't take any extra precautions and they did not get sick. But she had a coworker who went to her hometown and ended up with a serious illness that took 6 months to get better. I know the south is pretty forested so I might want to take something in case of a mosquito bite (malaria) even though I don't anticipate roaming the jungle. So what I gather is sticking to busy restaurants should be the safest. I'm not opposed to trying some reasonably different foods, just don't want to get sick. And only drink boiled or bottled water (apparently hotels give bottled water for brushing teeth, or so I saw from a friends picture). Heard some stories about fake (plastic) food from another co-worker who grew up in Vietnam and there are the occasional stories about bad chemicals getting into food. Luckily they did not ask me to go at the end of September (Rennsport). I'm not sure how much free time I'll end up having. The Chines lady from work recommended Beijing as being more Chinese than Shanghai and having some historical sites as well as being generally more interesting. She said that the dog (eating) festival in the south is over so I won't need to worry, and that don't go in early October because it is a national holiday and everything is very crowded then. She said late October is very good, but August will be very humid and hot.

It should be an interesting trip Max. Just get all the shots your doctor recommends.

Dudes...
My mind is totally blown right now. Was hoping I was dreaming at the end of last season as I thought the SC was developing a new noise under full song. Noise being a lot quieter but similar to that of the metallic sputtering on old VW Beatles, and only when the car is being hammered on. The more I read, the more convinced I'd become I was blessed with broken head studs. Mrs Saucy and I were just in the garage, pulled the lower covers. Nothing! (Which was an amazing feeling of relief and wtf!?) I even stuck the hex-head down in there to put a little torque on them and ensure they were in 1 piece. Buttoned that back up and fastidiously covered every visible inch of the HEs and collectors, again, nothing denoting exhaust leak (carbon build-up) Think I should re-torque the heads while I'm in there? Pull the upper covers and re-torque them as well? The car runs great, idfk wtf to think at this point.

Know nothing about the SC or any 911 for that matter.
Assuming Full song = full throttle, hammering = 4K rpm and up. Is metallic sputtering what pre-detonation sounds like on a 911? That would break head studs if let go unresolved. Again I am not a flat six guy and have no idea how the fuel is metered what rich or lean sounds like or how timing is managed ie, knock sensors or not.

Failing tensioner maybe... a little chain slap....Use a long screw driver to your ear as a stethoscope and probe the covers. Sometimes will fix itself if itself if caused by not driving it fir awhile.

Toss in some go juice above 87 Octane and see what happens?
i've always used 87 because of the 8.5:1, i know it would be a temporary fix until its tuned properly

Good morning whippersnappers.
Dija know, if you leave fuel with ethanol in a gasoline powered device when not being operated for a while, no amount of stabil or the like will keep it from gunking up anyway.

My Carrera requires premium. I don't know about the SC.
From what I have read don't torque the head studs. That often is the cause of them breaking. If they are not loose and broken, leave them alone. It does sound like detonation my be your problem. Back when my original engine in the El Camino was past 250,000 miles it would ping under load with regular. I had to run the middle grade just to keep it from detonating. When I took it apart after 301,000 miles it had just little bits of carbon on top of the pistons. I guess it was enough to raise the compression and cause pinging. My suggestion is ren a few tanks of premium and see if the noise goes away. Then change back to the regular. If the noise comes back, you know the problem.

No snaps being whipped here.
Good Tuesday morning. I went up to my wife's office last night to grab all the personal photos off of the wall. We can't do it tonight because she turns in her keys today. Eight hours of "work" and she is retired. ![]() ![]() I suggested to her that if anyone asks her to do some work just tell them to come back tomorrow.

"Retired." Hmmm, I like the sound of that word.
Congrats to Mrs. Carrera!
