I did a few small things here at our house while the carpenter installed new front doors. More small tasks tomorrow, and sometime this weekend I'll need to round up enough base molding to trim out the house. During the week I'll need to make some time for driving my 964 and to go sailing. We typically rent a small sailboat for a few hours and putter around the Pacific Ocean. Three hour tour?

Happy 4thof July!

Do the people complaining about others doing fireworks realize that IT COMES EVERY YEAR?!

So many on FB whining about their animals being scared because the "*********" down the street is lighting fireworks.

Get the fark over it! It'll happen next year, too.

Used to blow up all the model airplanes and cars I had built since the last 4th of July, also coffee cans, soup cans, or anything else I could find laying around. And if there was a red ant hill, IT WAS WAR!!! Ha ha haaaaa

Wow, golly jeepers that was fun!

I spent most of the day waxing the 911. First clean the paint then put on a cost of wax. Then to top it off I mowed the yard.

Tomorrow I will start on the interior parts of the 911. For a 30 year old car with 159,100 miles it does look great but I do admit I am just a little prejudiced, just a little.

It is a good thing I have many years of doing 12 oz curls. I would not be able to move my right arm if it were not trained to push through pain.

Cleaning the paint then waxing is a lot of rubbing with one arm. I tried to use both arms as much as possible but some things are just done with one hand.

Made 4 freezers, 2 gallons of cooked vanilla ice cream. They ate 2-1/2 freezers, 1-1/4 gallons of it. Got a freezer and a half left over. The freezer I borrowed from Glen was a White Mountain. It has the traditional wooden bucket. Mine has a wooden bucket but is lined with plastic. The other two I borrowed just had plastic buckets. I put the same amount of ice and rock salt in each of them and started them all at the same time. Mine finished first with Glen's coming in a close second. The two with just the plastic buckets took more than twice as long to freeze and required twice as much ice and rock salt before they were done. Thought that was interesting.

Fireworka were purty, but the igniters for the computer board to set them off got wet so they had to set them all off by lighting them the old fashioned way, light and run. Not as smooth but worked. The show lasted 30 minutes. Most of them were constructed by my nephew and his boys. My brother paid for it. overheard it costed around $750. There were a few very interesting ones they made with black powder and non-dairy coffee creamer.

Fortunately our dogs ignore fireworks. The amusement park a few miles away do them every weekend. The dogs are used to them.

Nephew claimed their display was safe for the lactose intolerant since they used non-dairy creamer. It made like this big fireball looking cloud that just hung in the air. He says fireworks is a creative outlet for his inner fire bug.

One of the kids set of a string of black cats. When it was done I said it sounded like someone making pop corn. One of the display shots popped a whole bunch of little firecrackers and I said Now I was REALLY hungry for some pop corn.

While we were waiting for it to get dark a couple of the kids did the who's on first routine, and I told the story of rendercella, her mean old mepstother and two sisty uglers.

Evening Y'all,
Had a great fourth and finished it off with the biggest fireworks display withing fifty miles, My little town lives for the 4th.
While we were waiting for the display to start we had a rather violent thinderstorn pop up and since all buth three of us rode down there in the back of the truck there was no shelter for most people, we just rolled under the truck and waited it out, there were eight of us sitting under it having a great time shooting bottle rockets. Yes I can sit up under that thing
