Morning Y'all
My house is slam full of antiques (other then Beth) and they are all passed down from generation to every other generation. Some of them have a very deep history in Albemarle county where I live due to her family history here.
When we sell and down size most of the furniture we have that will be gotten rid of is the modern stuff, since we are buying a house half the size. This is a good thing, no one needs seven couches, and yes that is hw many are in my house, we had to fill up the space somehow so we have many sitting areas (that never get used)
We also have way too much grass that never gets used but today I will be playing with that. Since I was sick last weekend it didn't get cut so I might need Peggy to pull the tractor through some of it.
I also noticed that my yard looks a whole lot bigger with CashFlyers truck not in it.

Rick, that was a very wise thing to add the "other than Beth" to your statement about antiques. I'd hate for something bad to happen to you. Hahaha!

Home improvement/remodeling is unfortunately my life nowadays. I pulled out our washer/dryer to replace the broken drip pan with a new one in preparation for a new washer & dryer. The old washer made too many unnatural noises. Also prepping the place for repainting and new flooring. Fun, fun, fun.

The best part of living in a fairly new house (it is 20) is few problems to fix. When Mrs Carrera wanted granite counter tops and new back splashes and of course a new sink she understood that was a job for a professional. I am stuck with maintenance however.

My fridgerator started making funny noises over the last month and I noticed my lectric bill was much higher than just the outside temps warrant. The noises really are funny, when it cycles off, it sounds like someone farting.

A new fridge can be a couple hundred for a low end cheapie or a couple grand for a top end fancy one. Heck you can spend a fortune on a ultra top end one.

15 yo Maytag w/d still gettin stuff wet an dryin it. I like the front loading washer and the drier senses how wet stuff is and turns itself off. The front loading washer doesn't crease stuff like the top loader did when it does the spin cycle, and the sensing dryer lets me know when the stuff is just almost dry. Since I got the set been able to just hang shirts and pants when hot and just a little damp and not have to iron.

Probably bout time ta clean all the lint out the dryer vent. Don't want to get in the attic to do it until the weather cools off a bit.

No luck w/ the washer/dryer replacement today. Delivery guys making excuses about why they can't do the installation. No problem...I cancelled the order and ordered different machines from a different company. They're going to show up on Wednesday. I'm looking forward to all of this being behind me.

We went to a memorial service for a long time friend. He was a super good guy. Rest in peace TJ.

We had to rush home because we have guest coming over tonight. Mrs Carrera decided "we" should make home made ice cream for them. So I am in the garage monitoring the ice cream freezer. Not hard work but I can't go wander off.

Green Mountain PCA had a tour around Jay Peak VT. today to check out the parade site. Got free tickets for a ride to the top on the tram (google picture)

The local roads still suck but the CEO said that they would be paved in time for the parade.
Put new shocks on Glen.......just in case.

Pete, I put new Bilstiens on just a couple of years ago. Those are way to expensive to replace yet. They should be fine still .

I need to start planning the route up and back. I want to hit all the New England states and a tiny bit of Canada. I need to figure out something in each state to stop and see. I hear there is some good history up there.

Evening guys. We are enjoying the good CA weather. Wish we could stay longer than the weekend. Glad we got the AC fixed on the van. I was not wanting to drive back without.

Morning Y'all,
Well on the appliance theme the dehumidifier in Lanna's bedroom that also services the basement decided to not have a fan function so I grab some tools, a hammer and prybar and rip the thing apart to find that yes indeed the fan motor had decided it was done working. Not a problem I get the number off of it and look online. Yeah a new fan motor was $100 and change.
I decided that for three times more I could have a whole new unit so that is what I did. I am going to take the old one and ditch it in a car at work that is headed to the crusher.

Hahaha, great recycling plan Rick!

Hopefully on Wednesday we'll get the new washer & dryer. I never knew how much trouble this would be.
