No particular Wednesday, just a Wednesday?

Going to have to order a drier for the AC, leaking.

They should replace the dryer anytime the system is open anyway. The last one I bought for my El Camino was about 25 bucks. The one for the 911 is a lot more.

Well, to be accurate the El Camino uses an accumulator and not receiver-dryer like the 911. Different types of AC systems. The El Camino is 100% box stock and will make me cold on a 100+ degree day in short order. The 911 AC system is far from stock and works dang well for an old air cooled 911.

The wife's Macan is astonishing. We were parked in the sun all day on Sunday and the car was HOT inside. We did not roll 10 feet before the air was blowing cold. It is just amazing. And I turned on the seat AC since the seat was in full sun and HOT.

Pretty sure they used a sniffer to find leaks before opening anything.

I would hope so. The sniffer is the first step of any AC work. Find and fix the leak. Then work on the system. Sometimes the sniffer will find it and sometimes the leak is so slow or hidden in an area that is out of easy reach.

My ultimate test is vacuum the system then pressurize with dry nitrogen to 250 psi. Let that sit overnight and if it goes down, you still have a leak. Of course I don't work on any but my personal cars. And I am even slower that the shop you use. But my hourly rate is really high for cars I don't own. $1,000 per hour and I takes days to do an oil change. No one wants to pay my rate so I am happy.

Howdy all.

Phew. We have a client that is a regular customer, and they are always in a hurry. They want a project flown on a certain time, and they want all the data processed is a certain way to meet their needs and they want it by the next morning before noon. I get the data back home with me at about 7:00 PM and get to work on it right away. I get it to a point where the computer can churn on it overnight and in the morning it is done with that step. Then I have to fire up the second computer and run some more post processing and get it tweaked to meet their needs.

This working for a living is hard! But that one client is a good one, and they have projects every week so steady work.

I got all that finished up by 9:45 and then went to clean up some in the garage. My garage is a leaves magnet. It faces west and the leaves all seek it out anytime the door is up. So I swept it out and straightened up some. We are having a Porsche Club board meeting here tonight. My wife finished cleaning up the back porch. It has been full of her flower bed projects, and plants in stages ready for planting. It is all planted, and looking good. In a couple of month it will be growing is full force and really blooming. Hopefully the birds, bees, and butterflies like it all. We do.

Have a west facing garage and I am in a culdesac so I get leaves and trash in my garage when driving in an out. And extra leaves and trash in the corners of my yard as well. Still not as bad as all the little spinney balls from the freakin sweat gum tree in the middle fo the front yard.

Something I have noticed.

Since I got the house re-roofed and it put the ominous nail in the yard...The garage pretty much matches the temperature outside and there is more dust and dirt collecting.

When got the new roof converted the turbine vents to a ridge vent and added a couple of soffit vents.

Because the garage heater closet is open to the attic and has a gap under the closet doors it vents thru the garage. With the ridge vents it puts enough vacuum on the garage to suck the overhead door in enough the weather stripping pulls away letting air in the garage. Especially if there is any wind outside. And that is all the time in Oklahoma.

When put in a new water heater, code added those long and short vent tubes going into the attic to thermally vent the heater closet. So... am going to stuff some towels in the heater closet door gap to see if it makes any difference. If it makes a difference going add weather stripping to seal the heater closet from the garage.

I figured it was a Monday since not other day would match that date. That said, very few Mondays are not from there.

Not necessarily! I have had many Sundays of long hard yard work on a weekend and it was great to get to work in an air conditioned office and sit on my butt in front of a computer.
