Rick, the Ruger is high on my list. Everyone I know that has one really likes it. They had some at the spoon show but were overpriced like everything else at the show. Almost everything else.
We are finally above double digits below zero. Whoo, flippin', whoo. Our local Chrysler dealer has popcorn and pastries and coffee plus chairs. They also have a kids area. Not sure how to take that, but we are catching Glen in miles on our Durango. Almost 200k now. The only thing bad with them is they needed a larger heater core.

The OEM heater core started leaking on my Elky long long ago so I had to replace it with an aftermarket POS core. It was a pitiful heater almost as a good as my 60 VW bug. I finally dug out my OEM heater core that I was smart enough to keep and took it to a radiator shop. He found a small bad solder joint and fixed it.
When I put it back in I was sure to block off all the bypass air and seal it up real nice. This morning it was 19 degrees. Within one mile it is blowing a hint of warm and withing two miles it is blowing warm air and by three miles it is blowing at HOT at max. Of course I did park in the garage last night. The heater works real well now. With the old heater I could drive all the way to work and still be getting luke warm air. After owning and driving a car as a daily driver for over 24 years I have pretty much touched every part on the Elky, sometime many times.

My wife has only used ours as a daily for 13 years. She likes the fact that it is smaller than a Tahoe but still has a decent torquey V8 in it and room for 7 if needed. Even ifwe got a new(er) one she wouldn't get rid of this one. I think she is attached to it. That and the fact that in a few more years she doesn't have to keep buying tags for it.

Both tags for my cars are at the minimum price. $21 bucks per year.

I have Hobbyist plates on the Cobra which is a one time fee. The only restriction is that I can't drive it in January. I don't think that will be a problem, driving a car with no top or heater in Wisconsin in January. It does have a defroster.

Around here they want to keep taxing us forever. It only goes down to the minimum and that never stops. $1.75 per month is not too onerous.
Of course I am a big spender and have personalized tags on both cars so it is an additional $21 per year per car for that. I am required to carry the regular tag in the car for whatever reason.

We get taxed enough on the regular tags. The Hobbyist is the same fee as three years.

Don't understand why you can drive it any time except January.
Just pay what they tell me, put the tag or sticker on, and keep on drivin. Had a customized tag on my 914 it was CRVHUGR. Haven't come up with one I wanted since.

That is the states way of limiting you when you have a one time fee and preventing someone tagging their daily driver that way. If you want to drive in January you can pay a $15 fee.
I wanted ZOOT on the plates for the Cobra when I was in CA.

When I had a big 4wd GMC Jimmy I wanted 4PLAY or FORPLAY, but they wouldn't let me have either. Something about being suggestive.
Some have 928 GTS on their 928 GTS, but it already says it on the back of the car. And not really into the JAWS or SHARK that some put on them. Guy has EZ2SPED on his 911 cab and he is the one in the group that gets pulled over. Bet couldn't get 5318008 either.

Evening Y'all.
Lanna and Peggy are tax free and Lanna has antique plates on her so it was a one time pop and no more fees ever. There are some driving restrictions but I view them like speeding restrictions, Just don't get caught and there is no problems. Woke up today in a bad mood and the course of events that transpired before I even got to work had me mad enough to beat someone. I was left alone all morning, I jut went to work quietly. I did hear my son say to the fellow that works between us to not bother me or he would get a beating of biblical proportions. I guess the boy payed attention. Thursday is gonna suck, I have to leave the house at 5:30 am and drive to Northern Virginia for a funeral, Both of those things suck. They are calling for some potential weather so I am more than likely driving Peggy, look out capitol beltway, redneck on the loose

God's country?
Been wondering myself. Worst part is that we have had a lot of unseasonably warm days...but it has rained and was windy almost every one. I think I just need a warm weather vacation. Daughter and her husband are on vacation this week (from where she is stationed in Korea) on the beach in Thailand. Photos are making me jealous. |

My employer just announced a buyout. $25k to leave (retire) by March. No penalty. Tempting...but only a couple weeks to decide. Probably pass.

We're still thinking about bailing out at the end of March. I think January 19th would've been an excellent choice.

My goal was 3 more years...as I can accomplish everything I want to at work by then and also walk away with a good deal better retirement...but was offered some interesting opportunities in an unrelated area in the private sector (startup) that would likely be much more lucrative in the long run (looks to be like it could practically print money). Hard to break away from my conservative nature (and even more so, my wifes's). Hard to walk away from a "good thing"...Learned that from "Starship Troopers" movie.

We could keep working another year or two, and sick awY more money, but at some point you have to step back and ask yourself why. We've been asking ourselves that question for a couple of years now.

Good morning all.
My wife and the dogs are all enjoying her retirement. Somehow the dog have adjusted to being in Mom's lap all day.

I don't expect to sit around very much after retirement. I should be able to keep myself pretty busy.
