I just want to start using the one I already have. It's been languishing in my SoCal garage with me only getting to drive it, at most, once every three months.

I just need some dry weather and about 20 mins to remove the boxes blocking her in.

I drove mine some Saturday. I also drove it to work on Friday. I need to replace the horns. Only one is working and it sounds pretty wimpy by itself. I am going to replace them with the Hella round horns that are much louder that OEM. It is a bit of pain to replace them. The manual says to remove the bumper. From my reading at most I have to remove the fog light or the bellows and of course the front right tire.

We had an OK weekend weather wise. Sounds like that is about to change on Tuesday. 10-12 inches of snow and 35mph winds. Or it could be 3-5 inches and rain. Or it could be...

One thing about living in SoCal was it was sunny and hot. Always. Well, it was windy some of those days.

Looks like I should get the snow blower and squeegee ready.

So Rick, have you notice the transmission shifting slower than usual? That person wasn't riding in the cab with you, right?

Glen, I don't remember which rims you bought. Pics?

It's the London Bridge now somewhere in AZ?

A 918 hybrid hypercar was the top seller at Barret-Jackon...$1.6M.
The same as 3 vin #001 55. 56, and 57 vettes as a set.

Imitation Fuchs.

17 inch 7.5 front 9s rear with 225s front and 255s rear. They flat out fill up the fenders.

I thought long and hard about real 17 inch Fuchs but the offset for them is designed for the 964. I would have to run 35mm spacers and some really long lug bolts to use them. They would be sever pounds lighter and surly stronger but they were over 3 grand for the real ones and that was just a bit too spendy for my needs.

This spring when things get get I will get some pictures that are prettier background than my driveway.

Those look good. Our are the grey centers with polished rims. Probably are supposed to be black but have faded over the last 45 years.

I had to have a local shop paint the centers. The car came with color matched wheels. I want to do an autocross on these and be 100% sure I like them before I have the old tires removed from the OEM Fuchs. I can't think of a really legitimate reason to wait except "just because" I wanna.

I will haul the 15 inch Fuchs up into the attic for long term storage.

Know 17 in is a lot bigger than 15, and you went with tires that give you the stock rolling radius, but...With all the newer wheels being 18in and bigger with lower profile tires, those still look like there is a lot of rubber between the rim and the road.

Looks almost stock to me, maybe a little wider. Especially matching the style and painted centers. You would probably have to set them side by side for me to tell much difference.

Bet they look huge to you!

Can you tell which one is the new tire?

This is new rear tire on top of the old rear tire.

The new tire is real close to the factory diameter tire. The old tire was small. It was all that was available for 15s. The old one is a 225 the new one is a 255. The fronts are now 225.

Well, went to eye doc and can barely can see today.

Got retinopathy under control with the drugs shot into my eyeball, but still having some vitreous bleeding, floaters. Had a hemorrhage event in my left eye last week, ie. some new floaters. They dissipate but while doing so it is blurry. Went from 20/100 to 20/60. Not quite dissipating as quickly as they would like. My end up getting fluid in eye replaced.

Also had enough swelling in my right eye to warrant another retinopathy treatment shot. Down to getting those only about every 5 or 6 months. I'm told that is great.

Between the floaters, shot, and dilation the world is a blurry place as much with my glasses on as with them off.

Got lucky driving home. Eye doc is only 3 miles down the main street my neighborhood comes out on. Pulling out of the eye doc just happened to get behind a patrol car that ended up giving me an escort home. He went from the eye doc past the street turning into my neighborhood. Good thing too. I couldn't focus good enough to see how fast I was going on the speedo, and could only just barely tell if the traffic lights were red or green.

Have my browser zoomed way in to be able to read and write this.

225 front and 255 both on 17s is what my 928 GTS had stock.

Even though my boxster handled great with 225/265 going with just a wider 265 or 275 in the rear of the 928 just made the front push. Found going to 265 or 275s in the rear required 235 front to keep it from pushing too much. 235/265 made the rear a little loose. Still takes a little ride height, sway bar, and damper tuning to get it balanced well.

Well my favorite tree on the property was cut down today. It was a massive old maple tree that was haff dead. I am going to miss that old tree in my front yard.

Used to have a big ol oak tree just on the other side of our fence. You could see it out back when sitting in the living room. They killed it putting a road in, then took the road out, then took the tree. It also took a lot of neighborhood wildlife that were living in it, ie birds, squirrels, raccoon, and opossum.

There is still a great horned owl that roosts in the top of my cottonwood tree. Hear it hootin at night. And lately saw a smaller opossum cruising along the top of the stockage fence.

I suspect a front engine 928 and a rear engine 911 handle different. With tire pressure changes I should get it to handle fairly neutral. It will be a learning experience.
