And I bet it sounds glorious when you are on it!

I love to goose it in tunnels or under a few over passes.

I roll my window down for that. It's one of the reasons I put an RMB, Rear Muffler Bypass on the 928. The huge factory rear muffler is just way way too quiet. People have told they enjoyed being behind me on tours.

I don't what was different besides the displacement, but he exhaust note on my 90 GT was more melodious and not as raspy. It would send chills up my spine and make the hairs stand up on my neck going up thru the gears.

Very curious to see what the GTS will sound like with cams, tuned headers, custom tuned x-pipe, sport cats, resonators, and rear muffler bypass. If it ever runs again.

Of course I am very addicted to the sound of the 911. Even after a 12 hour road trip I love the whine of the cam chains.

The Elky has dual exhaust and a x-pipe to deaden any drone. It is not loud at all by design, but I like the rumble of it when it is just sitting there idling. It sounds OK as it drives off. Something I don;t get to hear since only my wife drives it away and she just does not punch it unless she is getting on the interstate.

I loved the sound of SC with the factory premuffler and Flo-Pro muffler. Deep, throaty at idle but wailed at high RPM.

I removed the huuuuuuuge rear muffler on our BMW 5series wagon. It certainly gave it a bit of growl even with the 6 cylinder and it did not sound like other wagons.

Oh my. Couldn't sleep. Poked around on Cars.com. There is an 09 Cayenne Turbo S with 73K miles same color as my 04 Cayenne S with the same 22" wheels as mine listed for $39K. That's just $29K more than I paid for mine. Seems like a lot for an additional 105hp.

Yea, that is OVER $276 per horse! Yikes!

Good Tuesday morning everyone. I guess Jim will be late checking in now. Since it is Saturday and he is on left coast time.

There are still a lot of 04-06 Cayenne S's listed for $17-20K. Found a really good deal on the one I got. That's why I jumped on it. Especially since it has the tow package with air suspension. That turbo S didn't even have tow package stuff like receiver hitch and brake/light wiring. Not that I have a trailer. But the turboS also had the cornering lights, panoramic sun roof, rear wing, front and rear bumper skid plates, bluetooth stereo, and 60K less miles. Oh yeah, it also had rear seat heaters for Pepper.

There is also a red Manual Cayenne GTS listed for $30K.

There is a red auto Cayenne GTS in Tulsa for $26K.

At the introduction for the new 911 the dealer slipped in a new Macan GTS. Only $82 grand! That is what you need! From all the reports I read it handles like a real sports car.

But can it pull a trailer? It can if it is not over 4400lbs.
Mine can pull a 7700lb trailer.

Again, not that I even have a trailer.

Besides, that's twice as much again.

Just as afraid to test drive a Macan as I am a PDK Targa.

Good plan David.

Richard, pulling a trailer is great for those that need it, but you and I don't do that.

My Elky has a trailer hitch. I have pulled maybe 7 trailers in the 25 years I have had the Elky. It is real handy when I need that, but it is rare and they have all been fairly lightweight utility trailers.

Trailers are really great, even better when someone ELSE owns it and you can borrow or rent one and not have to store it.

So it is for trans/women/infant/children???

The Cobra doesn't have an x pipe but it doesn't drone too badly on the highway. It sounds odd since you only hear one half unless you are on it. It sounds good when others drive it. One time my brother in law took his boss for a ride and on the way back he got on it hard from one of the stop signs and I joked with him about it when he got back. He looked surprised and said you hear that and I said we all did. He was a couple miles away when he stood on it. I wish it were quieter some days. I also wish I could find tires for it that didn't tramline so badly.

Stupid spammers.

The new spam filter Richard set us up on is great. Now instead of hundreds of spam messages to wade through it is down to a handful. I must be an important man because I still see the SPAM for Jet Rental and private yacht rental. I guess I should rent a private jet to fly me to Europe and then rent a yacht and sail to the Monaco F1 race. I got a new winner for the dumbest spam today. They are selling 50 Kg gold bars. That is 1607 troy Oz bars! That would be four times the size of the bars in Ft Knox which are 400 oz or 12.5 pounds or 12.4 Kg. I guess I can sell a few 50 Kg bars and afford those jet rentals and yacht rentals. Lets see 1,607 x $1,256 = 2 million. Yea I need to buy a couple of those!
