Come to think of it, buying that Miele dishwasher was the beginning of the pattern, and lead to the purchase of the front loader, then the vacuum cleaner, and now the fridge and freezer.
Jeezzz, the buggers have got some good money outta me in the last few years.

As rugged individualists, we went with KitchenAide for our dishwasher.

We went with a black faced GE, with alot of buttons across the front, and adjustable racks.

I revived the old dishwasher thread on OT and once again the Bosch seems to be high rated buy the pelicans. Our old dishwasher was loud enough we had to turn the TV up to hear over it. It will be nice to have a quiet one.

We don't have nuthin named Miele.
Mine is a black faced Maytag, as is the washer and dryer cept they are whities. Fridge is a KitchenAid and over 25 years old. New stove and microwave are GE that's all that fit without remodeling the whole kitchen. Looked at dish washers a while back and the Bosch got all the best reviews. Basically pre-wash everything before it goes in the dish washer. Before I look too hard need to see what fits. The fridge is warning me that it is on it's way out. When it cycles off the compressor makes a noise that sounds like a fart. Would like a counter depth one to make the small kitchen look bigger.

Our Bosch is so quiet that my mom was shocked it was running and she was standing right next to it. I think I know what she's getting when hers dies.

The Bosch we are getting has a small LED that shines on the floor to let you know it is on and running. Evidently a lot of people would open it up to check or just not knowing it was on. That stops the cycle and wastes time and energy.
Good TGIF day!

My old dish warsher is really easy to tell if it's on even though it is very quiet. Either the dial is in an off position or it's on. None of that fancy smancy button stuff. It does have a clean light when it finishes that you turn off after unloading it.

The washer and dryer was funny because we bought it scratch and dent. Got the drawer pedestals free and money off and when we got home just rubbed the glue off that was the "scratch and dent". richard, our was an old Maytag that was put in in '92. It was LOUD! Most places that do the review say not to pre-rinse anything with the new ones.

From what I read is the pre-rinse is only for large chunks of food. It would be stupid to drop a big chunk of broccoli or the fat cut off of a steak in the dishwasher. I just scrape off that stuff into the garbage can and into the dishwasher. My wife wants to scrub them clean first. Of course she wants ME to empty every trash can in the house and take it to the big outside trashcan right BEFORE the lady we pay to clean the house arrives.

My first golden, Penny was the best pre-rinser ever. She would get everything spotless unless it had pickles. If it had pickles it would still have them when she was done with it. Camber would eat the leftovers, but didn't lick anything very clean. Pepper slicks up stuff almost as good a Penny did, but doesn't like ketchup.
When we had Penny you didn't have to worry about anything hitting the floor. Rarely if ever did anything even make it to the floor. If it did, she mopped it. I could even give her some of whatever I was drinking by just pouring it and she would get it all from mid-air. Camber it would just hit her on the head and splatter. Well, unless it was aerosol whipped cream, she loved that. Working on Pepper. So far she likes catching popcorn and I can spit ice cubes at her and she will catch them. Loves chewing up them ice cubes.

That's what we were told as well Glen, just scrape the trash into the trash and let the machine do its thing.
Our first lab would eat a hamburger and spit the pickles out when she was young. Later she just ate the pickles. We always ordered them with no onions so I guess we could have ordered no pickles as well. Looks like we won't get the car fixed, we have a decent offer on it as is.

Well, we are under another another tornado watch. A thunderstorm is going to get to the metro area sometime in an hour or so. I will be forced to leave work a bit early, dang.
![]() What that really means, no going out to dinner on Friday night. I am not getting my car out in a potential hail storm. We will have to do alternate plan B or C for dinner. We might starve to death in those couple of hours. We will just have to do a Saturday dinner tonight and pretend Saturday is Friday night for dinner. That is going to make me have to think! Hey the upside is it will be beer thirty earlier!
