That thunderstorm pretty much says it all, if there is thunder there is lightning. And me getting wet ain't my style.

Seen where some lady washed her car in the rain on one of those extreme cheapskate shows.
They were wearing rain slickers. Seems like they would have done the swimsuit and call it a show too thing. Maybe they weren't as extreme as they thought they were. Reminds me, need to run the Cayenne thru the car warsh.

Well, went and spent some money on a convection toaster oven.
First reason is my toaster toasts but it is really slow and when it pops up the toast isn't hot enough to melt the butter you put on it. The old toaster we had was not only much faster, when it popped up you had to be careful not to burn yourself...it sure melted the butter though. Also hoping it will save on my electric a cooling bill using it instead of the full size oven to reheat left overs. Also thinking about getting a smaller gas grill that only cooks a couple of burgers or steaks at a time instead of the big 3 burner 44,000 btu i have now. Kinda wastful firin up the great big ol grill and cooking just one burger or a couple of hot dogs on it.

Good Monday morning and I I am at work, trying to get back up to speed.
We picked up a new contract for a lot of flying and mapping. I need to figure out just what the client expects. And I have some old projects to tie up the loose ends. I may have to put off the morning nap until 10:00 AM!

I was looking at my map and I now have just 11 states left in which I have NOT driven my Porsche. Just WI, IA, MN, ND, SD, NE, WY, MT, ID, WA, OR.
Next year I will knock off Nebraska, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Washington and Oregon. That will get me down to 43 of the lower 48. I talked to a friend at Parade this year that lives in Anchorage, AK and he does drive down every year in his 1985 911. He said there is still several hundred miles of gravel roads. Not interested in that trip. Spokane is yet another 1,700 mile trip.

We had a good meal there. I just imagine that area in the middle of winter. They had drawings of the area with the lake frozen over. It looked cold!

We were there in August, it was NOT cold. Our hotel was just a few blocks from there.

Warmed up my first burger in the new toaster oven for lunch today. Was just like it came hot off the grill.

This afternoon some self-righteous woman walks past our car in the grocery store parking lot and starts giving me **** about leaving my dog in a hot car. Never mind that I'm sitting in the car too, and that all the windows were down, and that there was a pleasant breeze. She said I should take the dog out and walk the dog around in the parking lot. So, in her mind, I should subject myself and the dog to walking around a busy parking lot, under the sun, with hot asphalt contacting my dog's paws, instead of letting both of us sit in the car, with a roof to protect us from the sun, with all windows wide open, enjoying the breeze. And mind you, the temperature outside and inside the car was mid-to-upper 70s. She was spouting off about working for an animal rescue and that I was no dog lover. I told her to shut up and call the police. After taking a pic of the back of our car, she went into the store, shopped, and left with us still sitting there in the car. No police showed up. ****ing idiot.

Now you know exactly how I feel, except the stupid self-righteous old bat called the police on me. At least the policeman laughed about it and thought she was nuts.
I bet she would have gone off on anyone with any animal in their car unless it was in a kennel in the back of a pickup. I still wish their was some way you could make those self-righteous idiots pay for your and the policeman's time when they make an unjustified call. Something to make them actually use their brain before they go off.

I've resigned myself to living with the fact that people suck.... Makes dealing with people much easier. At least once on any given day I decide I'd like to reach through the phone and choke someone. Some days its more than that.

I was disappointed that she didn't get the police to show up. They would have been pissed at her.

1400km done, about 400 more to get to the concert/festival. Found some friends from the Alice that are touring Oz with a caravan. Opened the roof top tent to find a wet cot. I guess the tent is not rated to cope with a cyclonic hail storm. We're looking like a Chinese laundry.
![]() We don't need to be at our destination till Friday, so the next 400km is going to go slowly. We'll probably find another nice river to camp beside.

Jeff, I am sure glad you are enjoying the camping and glad I am not there
![]() It is great that a free people can do what they want on vacation. On the list of things I want to do, camping is right under oral surgery for me. I will not be filling up the campgrounds and getting in your way. I feel pretty much the same about fishing. Now sitting in a 911 for 5,400 miles now that is FUN. ![]() I did the conversion, that is 8,690 KM. 99.9% of that was on paved roads. The best news is you are not at work ![]() Enjoy your practice retirement. Drink a cold one for me. I thought of you as I sucked a down the Monty Python's "Holy grALE" in that pub in Bethel, Main.
