Get off my lawn!
|
Since I have only had three new to me vehicles in the last 42 years I can remember them all with ease. I ordered the 914 and it took many long months for them to build it to my specifications. I picked it up on September 13th, 1974 at 12:02 PM. That was a was Friday the 13th. On Monday morning I brought it back for the first service at 600 miles.

Good Morning,
Despited the excitement of the Cayenne delivery today, and the titillating tag coversation, I fell asleep. Thought we determined toothpaste was a key ingredient for nipple lube because you get a high from rubbing toothpaste on your nipples.

That or not sleeping yet by 5am.
Did wake up at 7am and take my trash out. Wonder what kind of car carrier the Cayenne is on. My 928 was delivered to my driveway by a flat bed truck. My Rover was delivered to my driveway by a 7 car trailer pulled by a 1 ton pickup truck. My CayenneS was delivered by a Semi car hauler and I had to go 2 miles to dealership row where he unloaded it.

Now I gotta start loading up junk to haul to Good Will so will have room in the garage to park both Cayennes.
At least it will keep me busy. Thei also take styrofoam and cardboard for recycling. Did not know that. The corner gas station/liquor store has a cardboard recycling bin where I usually take my cardboard. Didn't know Good Will recycled Styrofoam and been just throwing in the trash.

Morning all. Well the trip to Bend was just a lot of fun. 2 hours into the drive the A/C quit on the car. Temp was in the high 90's in Bend. With two dogs and four people in the car it was nuts. We ended up cutting the visit short and driving home in the middle of the night.

How did we ever get along as kids without A/C? Now when working at home if it gets over 73°F I get uncomfortable and start sweating.
I remember having a little persons picnic table. In the summer we would put it on the flagstone pation UNDER a metal flat bottom boat we kept on saw horses. The middle seat in the boat made a shelf for the table. Even though the boat made shade, it was a metal flat bottom boat and would get really really hot under it. Surprised it didn't give us kids heat stroke. Probably caused dain bramage.

I don't know but I do know I'm pissed about the car. That's two failures in I think three weeks on a car with only 84k on the clock.

Went thru 4 GM compressors on my GMC Jimmy once. They would go out within a week of each other. The guy that did the AC work on my Jimmy really got tired of it.

I don't even want to know what this is going to cost to get fixed.

It will depend on what the issue is. Blown compressors are expensive because they often blow crap through the system so it takes the condenser with it.
The Elky compressors go about 70,000 miles before they die. They usually blow the nose seal and just let all the gas out. If it starts getting real noisy, I just replace it before it blows and save the gas and aggravation of replacing the condenser.

The guy that had so much trouble on my Jimmy went thru 3 rebuilt compressors before giving up and going with a new one.
Dang it, work has been too busy this morning for me to load up the junk to haul off. Only put my shoes on 15 minutes ago.

Sorry about the repair on the car David.
Took the kiddies to the dentist and got great checkups. No problems but the girl is going to lose all of her baby teeth in the nest year, so the doc says. FIL called whilst I was waiting and wanted me to go up in their attic to find one of the recessed light fixtures. The dumba$$ I was working with covered the holes and marked it wrong so they couldn't find it to cut the new drywall. It was a PIA to dig through the insulation but I found it. Sent a pic from my phone to them downstairs so they could see what I saw. Gotta love smartphone is just for that ability.

If I was not having to come up with wheels for the kid I'd unload the RDX. When I go in for oil changes they always want me to test drive a new one and try and get me to buy. Well at this point they will be hard pressed to get me to buy another one.

My mechanic started his Cayenne ownership by getting one for his oldest for $2500, he had to rebuild the tranny. His wife liked it so much he had to buy her one. And now that his 2nd oldest is getting his permit he is buying my old one.
My brother has been helping his grand kids that don't want pickup trucks get RAV4s.

Wheeeeee.
Golly I have been having fun. The computer we use in the office for our chief pilot and for shipping stuff and doing the invoices and accounting stuff was an old XP computer hand me down from one I retired from my use several years ago. XP will not run the new Quickbooks, or the FedEx software and other things had to be replaced. We bought a $270 used computer with a legal copy of Win 10 Pro. It is an i7 CPU with 8 gig ram and a one TB hard drive. Trying to get rid of all the stupid bloatware is step one. Then install the programs on the new system is just a blast. FedEx is a real challenge. It only required two phone calls to tech support. I think the IRS would want about the same amount of information to set up an account. Finally got that done and on to Office. Wheeeeee. Man this is almost like working.
