Keeping the thread on page 1...
We moved our sailboat to a different slip in our marina today, and we met some of our new neighbors. So far. it looks like nice, friendly people. Also, the access to/from the main channel in the harbor is much better. So, we're going to be using the boat in a wider range of wind conditions than we did when at our old slip. Whoo hoo!

We are just party animals. I remember as a kid thinking adults could party and have fun all the time.

Get off my lawn!

Good Morning all.
My greedy money grubbing boss made me work yesterday and into the night. Well my computer did. We flew another little project in south Oklahoma. It is a an area with a LOT of trees, and and seeing the ground is hard, mostly the top of trees. Oh well, we will get it figured out.

Morning all. Spent yesterday helping Connor get moved into his dorm at Western. Two hour drive North and then drive home in the rain with dark all about. It was a long drive home.

Always seems longer for me to get home than it does to get to where ever it was I went.
Once I was driving home on old Route 66 on a nice sunny day. Could see a small rain cloud several miles ahead crossing the highway. It was only 3 or 4 miles across. Drove into the rain, then in a few minutes out of it again and was once again a nice sunny day. It was like a free car wash.

Mrs. Carrera is in total control of the decorations, and household fixtures to achieve the look she requires. That means that several years ago we "needed" to replace all 6 of the ceiling fans that were 100% functional and dead quiet with designer ceiling fans. And I saw we changed them in a general term, it really meant me. All of the ceiling fans have light kits. To get the look, required putting in little bitty 40 watt bulbs. The master bedroom is DARK and my office was only a little better. Once the CFL bulbs came out I got some for my office. That helped, but it was still dark. I finally had enough and invested in some bright LED bulbs. Wow what a difference. I can see!
The bedroom has little decorative "candle bulbs" and are only for decoration. Piss poor if you want to see. We have a lamp that helps, but it is still dark in there. I am smart enough to keep my mouth shut. One of the pitiful bulbs burned out. I have to unsnap the chain unscrew one decorative bolt and remove it. Them a large thumbscrew to remove a frosted glass dome. Then I can get to the bulb. If it was up to me I would put in a simple white BRIGHT light kit. It ain't up to me. The living room has 7 pot lights and the ceiling fan lights so we don't need the ceiling lights often. The kitchen has under counter lights, over counter lights, and a dozen pot lights so the ceiling fan does not get used often. We have two ceiling fans on the back porch, and I have two in my garage. The ones in the garage are the recycled ones from the house. The garage and the bathroom in the garage are my domain. She gets to park her car in there, and a few items on a shelf. The rest is MINE! With my decorations. (Car posters)

David, it probably felt longer because you were by yourself, thinking about him being away from home. It look me a long time to get used to my son leaving for college.

Light drizzle here yesterday. It was cool but not windy. Had to go grocery shopping so made the excursion in shorts and jacket to keep dry because I always try to park out by the shopping cart corrals.
My whole house is mine to decorate and I really don't give a flip as long as am comfortable. Sister took all the pictures from my living room when Mom passed. Told her it made my living room look like a porno set. SIL gave me a picture to stop me from saying that. Did a local electric company energy audit because they gave me 10 9watt LED bulbs, 60 watt equivalence FREE. Have some if them decorative bubs. Replaced them with CFL as they burned out and am now replacing with LED as those burn out. House is fairly dark, considered putting in some can lighting, but with my eye problems dark rooms actually works out. Could put some more insulation in the attic and do more energy efficent windows, but the pay back would be like 10 years.

No it was actually longer. The wife rode up with him in his car and came back with me. Seems leaving her there was not an option..............

I have a sign glued on the toilet tank in my bathroom in the garage. It reads "Seat to remain in up position except when in use" and it does! I even get to have a big jug of hand cleaner on the counter next to the sink.

It is sunny and above freezing here. Supposed to get rain/snow/sleet later in the week.
Emily is having a hard time being isolated from the world. Her surgery is coming up and they told her she can't get sick or it gets postponed. I think the isolation is worse than the idea of surgery. Oh, happy one day closer to Friday!

Best wishes to Emily!
![]() It's raining steadily now, not too heavy, but steady. I cleaned up the sailboat, so now Mother Nature can continue to rinse it off. I'm not so thrilled about the heavy winds we're expecting overnight. NOAA issued a gale warning, but hopefully I did a good job buttoning up everything.

David, sorry to hear that.
Jim, I hope the mud stays on the hills and does not wash downhill. Of course the national news makes it sound a lot worse than it is.
