Long ago when I first moved to OKC I found a doctor. The very first visit was over an hour just to get to see him. It got worse after that. On one visit it had been two hours and I just went walking back to his office. The nurse was yelling that I can't go back there. The doctor was reading the freaking newspaper. I told him to get my records together and I will be back tomorrow to pick them up and I was going to go find a new doctor, he was fired.

He is the only doc I ever fired.

The only time I am willing to wait like that is when I am a fill apt and I'm waiting for the doc to have 3-10 min to see me.

Pete, do you just set your freezer outside this time of year or have a cache outside and turn the freezer off? How cold does it have to be to let the Cat idle all night to save it not starting in the morning?
My in laws used to keep an old, non working, refrigerator on the back porch for that purpose.

My old truck, back before i had a garage or a place to plug it in, used to run all night if it was much below zero and i had to leave early in the AM.

So far the town trucks have started ok (plugged in) down to -25.

Got called by att to schedule my install. Told them it was already schedule once. She said they don't have any record of that. The eNotice I got of the new install says it's an "AT&T Installation Date Change Notice." Don't understand if it was never scheduled why is this a change. Took them 2 days to figure out they F'd up and won't admit it.

This is year has started out just great so far. Got possession of my 928, but the new battery is dead. got paid for 320 hrs of vacation I didn't use, flat tire on Cayenne, battery dead on my tire inflator, AT&T nonsense, Dermatologist and low blood sugar fiasco, 2 day IBS episode fired off by low blood sugar event.

Don't know what Bro Bob did during his holiday stay but somehow my electricity usage was double for those days. Thankfully usage has gone back to normal since he left. Checked usage because my bill was noticeably higher for December. Still wonder what the heck he had on or was using to raise electricity usage that much.

Cox does have a policy that is they miss an appointment they give the customer a $20 credit on the next bill. One time they missed three appointments in one service call. I was making money my my service was messed up. They finally got a service tech to show up.

If it was me, I'd tell AT&T to go piss up a rope. They had their chance to show their customer service and cratered it.

Going to go talk to an AT&T store person about it. Then call the tech number they gave me and complain there as well.

Thanks Glen.

Really glad I went to the AT&T store. They were a heap more knowledgeable and saved me a huge headache. I had been put on a Consumer Contract instead of setting up a Business Connection. Seems there is a huge difference.

The first thing is the Consumer is a one year contract that the price goes way up at the end of the first year. Business stays the same as long as you have the account.

Consumer internet has a data cap. After a certain amount of data transfer you get charged per megabyte transferred. Like they do on the different smartphone services. They said they do that so consumers will get AT&Ts DirectTV. With business internet data is unlimited. Two of the sales guys had the business accounts so they could stream KODI instead of using DirectTV. One used Google Stick and the other a Roku box. Both were curious about me running KODI on my AppleTV. Said they didn't know it could be done. They both got real excited when I told them there is a box they can get that makes a TV antenna available on their network and there is a KODI plugin.

Consumer static IPs are still in the dynamic IP range even though they are static. A mail server with an IP in a dynamic range gets blocked by legitimate mails servers as a spammer. Business gets static IPs not within AT&Ts dynamic IPs.

They had me call and cancel the consumer 'service contract. Then they set me up with business service that does not have a contract. That means the price stays the same. And extra static IPs are $10/mo instead of $15/mo. The business account gets a different business support number. They claim it is better, but I will judge that when it happens. Another difference is the connection is setup in my businesses name instead of my personal name. And they had to check my credit report before letting me have the account. They still charge the business $100 for install, but they give me $100 visa.

Will see if an installer shows up next Friday afternoon, or at least calls. Just maybe my AT&T fiasco has mutated into a $100/mo cost savings/pay raise?

That sounds about like what my partner went through. On the phone they just insisted he had to have a tv setup to get the package. He told them he does not watch tv. He had to go to the store to help his mom get a new phone. While there he asked about his account. That got everything going in the right direction.

Oh my goodness. Went to sleep at 10pm last night and just woke up. It's almost 4pm. Yikes.

Went to bed early so could up at 5:30am and drive to DFW for breakfast with the big 928 group. Usually, 25 or 30 928 owners that get together there on first Saturdays. Over slept by just a mere 10-1/2 hours.

Did I ever tell anyone here that towel head support centers are stupid and suck ***?

It's not that the support itself sucks ***, it's the fact that their english is so badly pronounced with such a thick accent I can't understand them. Have to ask them to repeat themselves almost every new sentence they say. That is ****ing stupid on the part of the stupid *** companies employing these towel head call centers where the staff can't speak intelligible english. And NEVER at any time does it say this call is being recorded to insure proper service when you get unintelligible towel head support.

Once called a company in England for tech support. The receptionist (not a recording) that answered the phone had a very thick accent from somewhere in England, but everything she said was intelligible English. But compared to me she talked very fast. I told her I was a slow speaking Midwestern American and if she could slow down a bit I could understand her better. She laughed and talked what she probably thought was very slowly. Because of her thick Brittish accent I still had to process what she said before I could answer. She then quickly then got me transferred to the tech support guy I needed. He spoke in very understandable English without any sort of accent. It made my head hurt to talk to their receptionist. Told the tech guy and he laughed and said she was from London and did not get her job because of her phone skills.

ATT emailed me a cancelation notice. Was unclear whether it was for the first consumer contract or the business connection. Called the number in the cancellation order and got towel head support. After eventually being put on hold for 10 minutes found it was the consumer contract cancellation. Then out of curiosity called support number for the new business connection (different number) and amazingly enough got an American support person that confirmed it was the consumer contract that was cancelled, without having to put me on hold, and she said the consumer AT&T was an entirely different world.

Last time I called cox customer retention, not only got an American, the guy worked from home and lives in my neighborhood. He would have saved me some on my TV service, but decided to cut the cord anyway.

My programming viewing habits have really changed. And not just the lower commercial content. The biggest difference is I watch when I want and not when the shows I keep up on air. And if I am just watching instead of going thru trying to find something that is on, I go find a series I haven't seen and start from episode 1 then go thru the entire series. When Bob was here he asked to find something good that was on. He couldn't understand that virtually everything was available not just a few channels of things being aired. He also didn't seem to get pausing for a pit stop/refrigerator raid and then coming back to a program where you left off.

We might start out the week with some rain. I sure hope that’s true. I’d sure love to match last winter’s rainfall amount.

Bob is the visitor I have guest wifi with no security for. He can't seem to keep his laptop connected to a passworded wifi network. That and with all the trips he makes to Geek Squad to have them clean the malware off his laptop, I don't want him on the same network as any of my devices. Especially with the newly discovered processor hacks like Meltdown and Spectre.

My mean bosses wife made me help her pick up dog poo and rake up leaves. We also made a trip to the grocery store and a big box store for some items. Do we know how to party on a Saturday or what.
