I don't remember much either but I'm sure I don't like swats.

Got swats very few times. Just the threat of it was all it took for me.

I was the model perfect child. Other parents pointed at me and asked their kids why they are not more like me.

That really needs to be in green. My parents likely are rolling over in their graves.

I was not a bad kid, it was always my brother causing the problems. No really!

I was an awesome kid, my parent just didn't realize it because my sister is a saint. Popular, musically gifted, valedictorian, was the person Roger painted in the mural at school giving the graduation speech, and pretty. How do you compete with that? Also, a lot of the stuff I did that would cause them grief they never found out about. Well there was a school suspension it took over a week for them to find out about.

Oddly enough, my sister and I get along great. So well we are not allowed to be on the same team for Pictionary, Charades, and so forth.

Got suspended for a week when I was a Senior in HS. Dad got really pissed off when they called him at work to tell him. When he called me and I told him it was the Week of Spring Break, he laughed and told everyone at work..

For some reason I was the boy girls parents liked.

Was dating a girl that took me to see her Dad's office. He was an executive at Kerr-McGee and his office was way up on what was one of the tallest buildings in downtown OKC. Turned out he shared secretaries with the Dad of another girl I was dating at the time. The girls had said their parents were going golfing or playing bridge, or taking a weekend trip with their friends, but never said who their parents friends were. It wasn't until I was with one of the girls when we stopped at her house for something and both sets of parents were there playing bridge. Then I put it together. The girls were not friends at all, but their parents sure were. Neither the parents or the girls ever said anything that indicated they knew I was dating both girls. The Dads were always smiling at me.

Happy Pi day everyone.

It is also our Anniversary. Back then I was "working for the man" and new I am the man. We are on the hunt for two and maybe three Cessna 172s but most important we need some pilots.

We are looking for guys with a commercial license and experience in 172s, and looking to build time. Most of the guys want to build time to move up to an airline job. They will be flying solo and running the computer and camera system while maintaining safe flight operations. It is not glamorous in any way, just boring flying. But it can be steady work for a pilot that does not want to work with the general public.

I couldn't be an airline pilot, it would be like a desk job. Charter pilot maybe. Meteorological surveying, that would be fun!

So does the camera use computer control to time the shots?

I have some time in a 172 but have more time in a 152 and Cherokees.

I took some friends up in a 172 to fly over the Salton Sea one day and let the wife fly while her husband took pictures. We have a couple good pics of Navy Skyhawks (the A4 variety) flying below us from that trip. Their Skyhawks were faster than our Skyhawk.

Yes. We have a Microsoft Surface with the software loaded on it. It is connected to the camera via a USB 3 port. The camera system also has am external GPS antenna on the aircraft that is attached and an internal IMU. The laptop downloads the images as the camera fires. The camera knows and tells the laptop if the pilot drifted off line, or if they are going too fast for the camera to cycle.

Of course before we launch we put a flight project on the laptop and determine before hand how much overlap, sidelap, and at what altitude we want to be at for the resolution of image we need.

The pilot has to keep the wings level, so no banked turns while shooting. They have to watch for traffic, and watch the laptop to be sure they are on line.

The line can be as short as a few hundred feet to 99 miles. Actually the line can be longer, but we usually keep it shorter. By the time the airplane flies 99 miles, and turns around and gets back to the start they have had to travel over 200 miles. The sun angle changes a lot in that time so the exposure changes, and the shadows have moved a lot. It makes for poor image matching.
