Had to turn Hiya off (blocks solicitation calls). Getting the calls about once per hour.
One wants to refinance my home, the other wants to give me a credit card. They are recordings. After entering either 2 or 3 to have them stop calling...they don't stop. Type one to talk to their representative, tell them to stop calling. They either hang up, or put me on hold indefinitely. Called back the number, it is a spoofed caller ID. Either not in service, or someone that claims they have no idea what I am talking about. Turned Hiya off because it was blocking microsoft support call backs. Makes me wonder whom Microsoft is using for support.

That's interesting. For $2.99/mo Verizon will display a name and city/state on Caller ID instead of the number and city/state.
My old Caller ID used to display the Account Name and the number. When did that change? In the discussion I read about this the representative from Verizon said there is no way to keep solicitors from spoofing numbers. Guess I could save $3/mo by just turning off Hiya when expecting a call from Microsoft Support.

I call poppycock on the impossible to prevent spoofing. Bell telephone set up the original switches back in the stone ages of telephony. Caller ID came along long after, but it can be fixed to positively show the ID of the caller. Some places might feel a need to hide the ID, but those are rare.
If there was a real profit in blocking spoofed calls, the service providers would get together in a second and fix the issue. Somehow they are making some money on the spoofed calls. It would hurt their income as it is to block them. Good Friday morning all. Another rainy day but it is just rain, no ice. Maybe we get to see the sun on Sunday. I hope so. We have several projects to fly.

It is a heat wave. 36 degrees. 63 and Sunny on Sunday sounds way better. Always like 69 for some reason.

We could hit the low 50s by early next week. Rain for the weekend.
RV show this weekend as well. It is our date for tonight to attend. We don't need anything but it is interesting to go see.

Well, Hiya did a really good job except blocking Microsoft Support. Hiya keeps a database the app compares the incoming caller number to before letting it ring thru. That it why it had time to ring once on my computer before it got blocked on my phone. If I knew how to use the app better I could unblock the Microsoft Support calls instead of just turning off Hiya. There are also settings to change the caller ID to notify you that it is a suspect number instead of just blocking it. I just need to learn how to set Hiya up and use it properly.
Apple even has a setting on the phone app to turn on and off using programs like Hiya.

We are being wild and crazy tonight. Actually going to another couple’s place to chat then go to dinner at a local nice restaurant. Long time friends, and we both kept saying we need to go to dinner sometime. Tonight is sometime.

Yea, sunshine.
It is supposed to be really nice tomorrow. The first of my computer parts came in. The case. It was slightly damaged in shipping. It is mostly cosmetic but the corner does have a slight bend. Since it is on the back corner no one will see it anyway. We may well be hauling this computer around to clients as a giant laptop to demo the visual of the 3D mapping we can do. Some people can't visualize anything. This will allow them to see it for themselves. The rest of the time it will be whipped into working as a slave in the corner processing data for the big projects.

Morning all. Off to do more hard testing. This time I am off to see the ophthalmologist. Just a yearly checkup. My vision is pretty good and I only wear glasses to read or see really small details up close.
He is a eye surgeon and does all the tests. My grandmother and my dad bot had issues in later life with detached retinas. My plan is to avoid that.

Morning all. Got the RDX dropped off for repair. Saw a Macan S there and I want one. Alas I got stuck with a 2016 Nissan Ultima. I think my 2007 RDX is a better ride at 10 years old.
