not if it's random, they would have to be well timed grunts, with proper intonation

Clint Eastwood demonstrated this excellently in Gran Torino

j/k-she's reading this right now Gotta go
He, he. After reading the first part, the last phrase was kind of superfluous.

Divorce is a result when one or a combination of the following (if all three are absent you are screwed!!) are absent in a relationship:
1) Communication
2) Intimacy
3) Money

Does not matter on your status in society or how much money you make.

I have an uncle who's "just" a lowly plumber. Albeit a lowly plumber that builds plumbing systems for new condo buildings on the coast, but his occupation is still plumber. His income according to mom is in the mid-6-figure range.
And he has a few "ditch digger" friends that are doing quite well, thank you.

My post had nothing to do with employment or jobs, other than to muse as to whether a couple who were more affluent were more susceptible to divorce as a result of economic downturns (unemployment of a spouse, perhaps) than a less affluent couple. My theory is that the more affluent couple probably has more "stuff" and more debt, and that the economic disruption has a bigger impact on them.

I think it was Alabama who sang:

Well somebody told us wall street fell
But we were so poor that we couldn't tell.

The line in that song referred to the Great Depression era.
Different circumstances now. Well... come to think of it, not too far from it it seems.

+ 1

And is often used as a convenient excuse when the real reason behind the problems may lie undiscovered for years or an eternity.

You'll be surprise at what a "Backhoe Operator" ditch digger makes. More likely he is making more than that civil engineer that design ditch.

LOL
