Concept Albums
Got a favorite? Will concept album survive the iTunes age where most buy just a song at a time?
One of my personal favorite concept albums... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1272039285.jpg Great country rock - great Americana! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1272040423.jpg |
Jackson Browne's the dead guy on the left and J.D. Souther on the right. I always liked Meat Loaf's Bat Out Of Hell and Marvin Gaye's What's Goin' On as 2 great concept albums.

Marillion's Misplaced Childhood from wikipedia "The story has thematic elements of lost love, sudden success, acceptance, and lost childhood, along with an upbeat ending." |

"White City: A Novel" was also by Townshend. IIRC at the time, he said he didn't think he could get away with another opera, so he wrote a novel. Lots of good songs there for the uninitiated. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/WvRjGLRQQVk&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/WvRjGLRQQVk&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> |
