They say Neil Young invented the grunge look. What's not known is that he copied it from me. I grew up near his ranch, so it's entirely possible.

As I get older I find, especially in winter, to be wearing khakis more often. Steve McQueen wore them year round.

I can't get enough cargo pants. I wear them basically all the time while traveling. While around the house and camping I wear nothing but surplus military pants. They are rugged, don't tear and also fit just right.

I'm the opposite of trendy.

The wife digs the Stetson, or more accurately, the Resistol. When we were dating she got me the Wranglers, boots and belt with the silver buckle for our first Christmas. She was talking about getting me a nice hat, but I talked her out of it. Apparently it is pretty easy to drop a grand on a top shelf hat.

A grand for a hat? WTF....

Here's me sporting a $50 Disney stetson at the Indiana Jones exhibit, a few years ago:

Doesn't really match the baseball jersey too well i guess, lol...

Michael Jackson? LOL, wtf?

I get Kid Rock a lot though. Also Axl Rose, Brett Michaels, Sebastian Bach, and Brad Pitt from Interview with a vampire.

Never once been compared to MJ before though, wise guy.

From that pic, it seems MJ also lacks a left ear. Either that, or those are some mighty crooked glasses he's wearing.

They use cartilage out of the ear to fabricate a nose.

It appears that Mr Jackson had his lips done to look like you there Snipe.

I have James May's column bookmarked and check it every couple of weeks. I usually read the back articles too. He's mostly hilarious. The guys around me at work ask what I'm laughing at.

He was in pretty good form in this one.

May is a good writer. Witty and irreverent.

As for men's fashions. The industry is constantly pressing men to succumb to fashion like most women. For example: Count how many pairs of shoes in your closet. If they number over 10 pair, you're a fashionista, or at least a foot fashionista (my rating, © 2010, All Rights Reserved). If they number in the hundreds, I'll try to hook you up with Imelda Marcos.

I just purchased a pair of retro Riddel "tennis" shoes. My wife commented, "They look like bowling shoes."

Her taste in men's foot fashion is suspect, but I think it's me.

Sherwood

I have some boots that are over 25 years old. My only real dress up shoes are the ones I got married in almost 18 years ago. I have about 5 or 6 pair of yard mowing shoes. As my walking shoes that I wear every single day wear out they go to the garage. The walking shoes are all the exact same version of the Reebock Renaissance white walking shoe. They make a 10 Wide 2E that fits me perfect, 40 bucks a pop.
