I agree with Stijn that the hatch looks much nicer.
M it!

(but Stigeon, your photography skills suck dude... how hard can it be to get the entire car in that pic, you were standing right friggin' next to it... )

As usual, it's not available in the U.S. The ROW gets the good stuff and the U.S. market gets the crap. A 1-series with the hatch maybe I'd be interested in - but again not for anywhere near $70k. Maybe for half that. Maybe. But I still doubt it.

Honestly I'm not a BMW guy anyway. Probably comes from living in SoCal for so long. M3s out that way are the vehicle of choice for self-righteous douchebags who really don't have money but want everyone to think they do - they're like sphincters - every butthole has one. Overly complicated overpriced junk that's only a pile of maintenance headaches for down the road also - IMHO of course.

Nope, I want the five door. Kids, and all that.

kids can get in and out through front door no sweat... i grew up with my dads 3 door 205 GTI, with full body kit... no need for 5 doors... the lines on the 3 door are so much better.

Yeah, but the US prices are usually about the lowest. Sometimes prices here are cheaper than in Germany. Some countries (England comes to mind) pay a stupid amount compared to what we pay.

I think all German cars are substantially cheaper in the US than in Germany. With eg., a well optioned Porsche this differential can be as much as 40% or more depending on what the exchange rate is doing.

The kids can climb in and out without any fuss. It's those freakin' child seats and buckling them in that's the major PITA with coupes.

I can buy a 5 door 1 series diesel in Mexico for about $29,000.
