(Camera is NG/no good obviously.)
Slow sauteed toppings in just a little butter, sweet mustard and mayo, but could have used spices and swiss cheese instead...and an Old Rasputin beer.
Gas stove and cast iron are sure nice to have.

Lettuce, ham, eggs, bacon, and vinaigrette with fig vinegar.

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

Cucumbers, par-boil and blanch. Sauté in bacon fat.

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

Cubed potatoes, par-boiled. Pressure-cook asparagus stems, purée and cook with butter and cream. Finish the potatoes in the asparagus purée. Basically, I didn't want to waste the stems.

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

Chicken, braised in stock and wine (pressure cooker 30 min). Sauce with the braising liquid, reduced 1/2 hour then flour and cream. White pepper. I kind of mangled the chicken, so tried to cover the mutilation w/ asparagus.

What are the rules for this thread? must the meal be prepared by the poster? Or can we post pictures of some awesome, interesting, pr different dinners we have had, that were notable enough for us to take pictures of them?

I.e. I have spent 3 months of the last 12 months in China....In big cities, and in some very rural areas....

I don't think they have to be self-prepared, though maybe you get extra credit for it.

Grilled Portabella Mushroom Burger......perfect for vegtable heads.....I cheated because I'm a carnivore. Their is a small lean ground beef patty just fitting under the mushroom cap.

Last night I had some home made bread, and a grilled ribeye. Not fancy, but excellent.

Sometimes less is more...

Having a few exceptionally good ingredients, simple prep... cooks in one frying pan

Can equal a sublime dining experience...

Steak Sandwich:

Dry Aged Wagyu Minute Steak
Vidalia Onion
Plugra Butter
Maldon Organic Black Peppercorns
Artisinal Ciabbata Bread.
Worcestershire Sauce

Take about 2 tablespoon of butter... saute the onions until limp and light brown,

remove from pan.

Slice the minute steak across the grain...season with Black Pepper

add to frying pan

saute till browned,

Add the onions back to the pan...

a few shakes of Worcestershire to the pan cook until you have a nice reduction....

remove everything from pan... quick wipe... add a bit more butter and brown the split ciabatta bread

Spoon the steak and onions onto the bread...

Open a Chimay, Duvel, Corsendonk and enjoy...

Sorry for the crappy pic...The battery in the K7 was dead...
