i freeze a 50lb bag and go the year with them..

Every year you can pre order and pickup at La Puente High School. The trucks come straight from NM and they roast them right there in the parking lot. Bristol Farms (there's one in SF) also does the chile roasting in So Cal, don't know if they do it in Nor Cal as well.
hatch chile

The new Thursday Lunch Standard...

Hot Italian Sausage Poutine topped with dry onion.

Lots of it for $10 ($7.50 US). Getting old I can only eat half of it :D:):D

As good as the T-Bone with all the trimming (beans, mushroom and Jalapeņo cheese) was, the desert was better :)

Monday Night Fish Dinner... Being Catholic it use to be "No Meats Friday Night" :)

Haddock top with Shrimp Stuffing (shrimp, onion, celery, bread crump, thyme, parsley, dry sherry, lemon juice and melt butter).

Serve with Toasted head Chardonnay. Note the "Super Tom" soya sauce (for the rice) in the background. The best soya sauce I ever tasted. Probably not available South of the border but quite a survival story; Lam & Sons Food Corporation

Alright, I'll keep the monologue going...

Home made Raviolis stuff with Italian sausage, Ricotta, Spinach and Spice to taste.
For me, topped with Parmesan and Chilli flakes.

Serve with a 2014 Chianti. As usual it was divided accordingly, 1 glass for Chef and the rest for me :D:):D.

8 more dinners in the freezer.

That looks fantastic. Haddock is like hens teeth here.

I'll pass the compliment to the chef as my only contribution was to take it in the house.

As for the rarity in your neck of the wood, why is that? Is all fish or just Haddock?

Haddock fish stocks are down. It's a North Atlantic fish. No need to ship what fish you catch several 1000's of miles when you can sell locally without the hassle of shipping long distances.

We are not that far (~900 miles) from the East Coast but Costco (largest retail-sector purchaser of seafood in North America) carry a good selection: Trout, Haddock, Tilapia and Salmon.

And before mentioned that their "Canadian Import License Suspension...", it was a paper work comedy of errors at the Headquarters in Ottawa (neighbors work their).

I'm in Tucson right now and bought some at Sprouts. They said they have had the roasters every weekend in August, next weekend might be the last. Gettem while they're hot! SmileWavy
